Mountain Brook High School graduate Natalee Holloway went missing May 30 during a senior trip to Aruba.

dare I make the observation that the ugly woman cat was away the mice might have played sharing?
My first thought when I saw him is, this guy is STONED.
This explanation was just about the call Beth received from the chaperone when they discovered her missing.
The big "I KNEW she was kidnapped" was only a mother's intuition, because Natalee was never late for anything? I bet Natalee never got into a car alone with three strange men before, either. Don't get me wrong, my heart breaks for Beth, but I was hoping they had evidence in a phone call that was enough to get the state troopers and FBI right on the case, and not just "I KNOW my daughter MUST have been kidnapped!"
K thanks. It's been a long time since 5th grade geography. It is making sense now.
BTW survivor, I lost a good friend in Vn in '68. I have never gotten over it. Thanks, OK?
The least anyone should expect for having to listen to BOR play with himself.
Mr. "Buzz" O'Reilly... those transcripts were horrifying.
ewwwwwww.......LOL
We have something in common then......and I'm still PO'd about that something. I used this screen name when I registered because it contrasted starkly with the hero role kerry was trying to play at the time......we won, LOL.
Croes seemed to be the immediate eyes and ears on the ground for the Twittys...or at least I was left with that impression after the Greta interview. He just happened to have a teenager riding with him that night (no explanation of who or why), just happened to drive out to the beach rather than go directly to the HI to meet with Beth and just happened to run into some people who could identify VDS and know where he lived. And it just happened that he was able to connect with Beth.
Which is a long way of saying that I agree with you, there was a great deal of information known in the very beginning and Croes seems to have a played a significant role in developing that.
VAN SUSTEREN: After you and Beth listened to that phone call several times and hung up with the person in the states, what did you do next?
I wonder who this person in the states was.
Heard on TV last nt (July 6) that the lie told by the Kalpoe brothers affected the search for forensic evidence.
When they said they dropped Natalee off at her hotel, vital time was lost in gathering important facts.
By the time they changed their story, evidence may have lost.
Aside from that, the lawyers for one or both of them accused Beth Twitty of libel for referring to them as
criminals. Oh, those poor young men! I bleed for them!
While Natalee Holloway's mother may have made a "judicial" error, how much can a mother be expected to endure without a "breaking point" sometimes? Beth has conducted herself so admirably that I wonder how many of us could match her dignity and resolve.
I say "SHUT UP" to any Aruban lawyer who dares to critize her. Can they swear that if one of their children disappeared so mysterously, they would be as patient as Beth Twitty has been forced to be for over a month?
And the Joran and the Kalpoe boys: If they had to face the tragedy that Beth Twitty and Natalee's father and all the rest of her family must endure, do we really believe they would never call anyone they know was involved a "criminal"? IMHO, they would say that and much more.
ANY CRITICISM OF BETH TWITTY IS OUT OF BOUNDS!!!
Memphis is a couple of miles from Mississippi. You live in Mempphis and can shop for groceries in Mississippi. And you would go thru Mississippi to get to Birmingham.

I'm in "Orygun" (that's so the people that read OrEGone, say it right when they read it) I hadn't even seen that story. What a heartbreak. What a snippy thread as well!
This is not like a crime that happens in most neighborhoods, the possible witness are mostly trancient in Aruba since most will be travelers.
Great point. An other problem is finding reliable witnesses--people whose observation & judgement abilities weren't compromised by party--to events that happen after the bars shut down for the night.
It really sounds like there were 2 phone calls. One to Beth's cell phone and another one somewhere else (home phone?). Remember when Greta was interviewing Beth tonight and she asked her if she had talked to Natalee during the time she was in Aruba? Beth said something to the effect of if she HAD called she would have known there was something wrong.
Cheese and crackers...that would be weird. Like father, like son? Of course, what happens in Aruba, stays in Aruba...and Aruba ain't Mayberry RFD.
