"About 200 protesters, some dressed as clowns..."
Only SOME were dressed as clowns, but they ALL are clowns.

I didn't really see that much action today. I did note that two helicopters were circling/hovering the city all day long. I saw some of the anarchists around 4PM coming from the direction of Princes Street down Lothian Road but other than that...

I'm deeply angered about what these people are doing to the image of clowns ;-)

Let us know what the BBC is saying about all this commotion.
Bet a Company of Scots Guards could clear the "Clowns" out of the street in short order.

Shoppers were told to stay inside the store while skirmishes outside - described as "a riot" by one frightened witness - were brought under control by police. These are the same groups that always complain about an impending "police state?" It seems that they are the ones that average people need to be afraid of.

So 200 protesters with floppy shoes are laying siege to Glasgow? Robert the Bruce must be rolling over in his grave. Turn the Guards loose!

These "Anarchists" shouldn't be coddled. You want to use violence? Then expect to be met with greater subduing power.

Welcome to the Socialist's best friends brought to you courtesy of George Soros and the Socialists throughout Europe. Unfortunately lots of them have been exported to the USA in the form of "peace" protestors and "democrats"...

Should anyone be surprised that a "catch-and-release" response to violent "protestors" does NOT deter violence?
