Hillary Clinton Blasts President Bush on Border Security
NewsMax ^ | 7/4/05 | Carl Limbacher

2008 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is blasting President Bush for lax enforcement of the nation's immigration laws, saying the White House has dropped the ball on border security and put the country at risk for another major terrorist attack.

In a statement posted to her newly revamped official Senate web site, Clinton charges: "The Bush administration is failing to meet what should be the basic requirements of immigration policy: continuing our American tradition of welcoming immigrants who follow the rules and are trying to build a better life for their families, while strengthening national security in a post 9-11 world."

In a potentially potent bid to win Red State support in 2008, the former first lady is playing the role of tough cop:

"Our current immigration laws need to be reformed," she urges. "We need a better solution to the question of illegal immigration which recognizes the conflict between the need to enforce the law, and the reality that too many employers are using undocumented workers today."

Clinton says that while "this administration has failed to provide the resources to protect our borders, or a better system to keep track of entrants to this country . . . I welcome the addition of more border security."

She pins blame for the failure directly on the Oval Office, saying, "President Bush refused to provide the necessary funding in his Fiscal Year 2006 proposed budget sufficient to hire all of the border patrol agents that had been authorized."

"Fortunately," Clinton adds, "during the Senate’s debate on the budget in March of 2005, we passed an amendment to provide increased funding for border patrol agents."

Then, in a none-too-subtle dig at GOP foot-dragging on the immigration issue, Clinton says: "I hope the Republican leadership will support the maintenance of this funding, to provide the resources necessary to properly protect our borders."

"I think we should place life sized photos of Hillary every 6 feet,..."

Amnesty International is certain to intervene on behalf of those poor illegals. That's just cruel!

Hope that didn't offend anybody,...whenever I read something about Hillary, I feel compelled to display a better representation of the fairer sex, otherwise I might forever scar my soul from thinking Hillary represents anything feminine.

"Well, the Pat Buchanan brigade is well represented here."

You mean the people who believe our borders should be secured?

Please clarify your puzzling comment.

But what is she, as a U.S. Senator, doing about it now? And why should we believe she'd do anything about it if she were president? I don't recall anything the "co-presidents" did about the borders when they had eight years to accomplish something in that area.

"Hillary is for amnesty for illegals she voted that way in the ag bill look up her voting record."

so is GWB...here's a link and his direct quote:

Direct quote from GWB: "This program will offer legal status, as temporary workers, to the millions of undocumented men and women now employed in the United States....."

After 6 years they get to apply for US citizenship.

That's Amnesty amigo.

Don't even begin to go there.

Bovine excrement! Doesn't matter who's saying it. The truth is the truth. George Bush has been derelict in securing the border on his watch.

It matters not what any other President has done in the last 50 years. We as a country are in danger in the here and now and Bush is showing more concern about the border between Iraq and Syria than the one between Mexico and the US over which pour millions of illegals.

You want to bury your head in the sand and refuse to accept reality just because in this case it is being espoused by a she devil, go ahead, but don't tell me to join you in playing dumb.

Overzealous party ideologues as you are as dangerous at times as the actual enemy. Read my tag line!

SEALING THE BORDER HAS BEEN PROVEN IMPOSSIBLE

Nothing is impossible if you have the stomach for it.

I'd go further than that. To some, this is nothing more that tin foil hat conjecture, but when it comes to the types of people who actually conspire, Hillary has the persona to fit that type of psychopath. This is serious business. She could rant and rave ala Maxine Waters all she wants, but when Hillary goes off on a tangeant like this, with some substance, there's more than meets the eye. Pick up your conspiriacy theories and Hillary will join in gleefully in this domain.

I wise Psych student/PhD candidate might find it interesting to begin a dossier on good ol' Hillary. These types of episodes are her raison d'etre in socialist politics.

Get above it. The US doesn't have the resources to enforce the border along the lines by which you have been thinking it, so don't allow the temptation to become frustrated overwhelm common sense. The situation is bigger than that and any Senator from a northern state, let alone an incompetant jackass such as HC doesn't even begin to have a clue as to how to express the problem, let alone solve it.

No. I don't promote one party over another, although the democratic socialists have pretty well destined a two party system of two competitive solutions to oblivion.

"I did what I could, now let's get back to work on those Welcoming Centers on the Texas border, we have lots more political refugees to welcome..."

How is that any different from what our sitting president has done in 4-1/2 years? I would never vote for HRC. I will never vote for another "compassionate conservative" either. Bush cured me of that, and made me realize there is not much difference in the "two" parties.

That statement alone makes you a raving lunatic.

Nothing is impossible; but, what do you care, you have surrendered without even trying.

If I'm not mistaken, it was President Bill Clinton that provided hundreds of thousands of Xeroxed "voter registration vouchers" or somesuch nonsense in 2000, to illegal immigrants.

The hope was that they would, of course, vote Gore. The "voucher" or whatever it was called, was supposed to be used in lieu of a voter registration card.

Let's ask Her Heinous to explain THAT before she starts throwing stones, shall we?

"A pro-American, pro-capitalist Vietnamese who knows that big government, socialism and communism fails everytime has less than a 5% chance of getting a VISA after applying."

And that's exactly why an anti-illegal platform will resonate so strongly with the various immigrant communities that are furious to see GWB giving special status to Mexicans. As GWB is catering to Vicente Fox and the illegal Mexican community, Hillary will be picking up (legal) votes from the Vietnamese in Southern California, the Haitians, Dominicans, and Cubans in Florida, the South Asians in New Jersey, etc, etc.

If the POTUS would call a presser and announce that "All illegals are to leave this country in ??? hours and any company that hires one will be fined 1$$$,$$$ dollars and if your Visa has expired you must also leave".

That would get rid of some. I know I'm dreaming but we're losing our culture with the help of our Gov't.

I predict that within 5 years our country, as we know it will be gone. F$$k the lettuce and all that. Before you know it the illegals will be asking for reparations.

Well, the Pat Buchanan brigade is well represented here.
Please clarify your puzzling comment.

What I mean is that, yes, I want the flood of illegal immigrants to stop too. (By the way, it is the liberals who have said that it is somehow racist to demand that immigrants assimilate into our country -- think bilingual education - foreign language on the doors of Blockbuster Video stores, etc.

What I am saying is that there are many here who would actually vote for Hillary based solely on her making some cockamamie pandering statement on immigration, which EVERYONE knows is a lie, and said purely for political expediency. So, for some here it's "let's throw out the baby with the bath water", huh?

In a previous post I reminded everyone of the huge deal Democrats made of various California immigration ballot initiatives. Remember those? Remember how Californian's - mainly conservatives and Republicans - tried to stop the flood of ILLEGAL immigrants, and every Democrat across the US worked without ceasing to brand Republicans, via their support for these initiatives, as racists and the party of racists.

You and I both know that Democrats, as a core belief of theirs, want our borders wide open. Anything less to them is racism and is simply intolerable because anyone who doesn't have a plasma TV or cable is poor and should be allowed welfare. I ain't buying I don't care what that lying traitorous huckster says. If others want to vote for someone who they KNOW is flat out lying, then fine - but not me, ever!

Stop worrying about Democrats and start worrying about Republicans. I am not giving Republicans another dime or vote until the border is closed and the problem fixed, and I couldn't care less what the other party does, nor whether they win or lose.

Got to give it to her.. Pure Genius though.. If she gets elected because of it...

Anyone who would vote for her to be President, because she decided to get tough on illegal immigration is a fool.

I'll stand next to her and support any good immigration bill she puts forth between now and 2008, but when 2008 rolls around, I'll fight to keep her out of Presidency.
