The Legacy of Jihad in India

The phenomenon of modern Islamic terrorism has forged an inchoate strategic alliance between the Israeli and Indian governments, while heightening the awareness of a common threatthe institution of jihadamong the civilian populations of these nations.
Rarely understood, let alone acknowledged, however, is the history of brutal jihad conquest, Muslim colonization, and the imposition of dhimmitude shared by the Jews of historical Palestine, and the Hindus of the Indian subcontinent. Moreover, both peoples and nations also have in common, a subsequent, albeit much briefer British colonial legacy, which despite its own abuses, abrogated the system of dhimmitude (permanently for Israel and India, if not, sadly, for their contemporary Muslim neighboring states), and created the nascent institutions upon which thriving democratic societies have been constructed. Sir Jadunath Sarkar (d. 1958), the preeminent historian of Mughal India, wrote with admiration in 1950 of what the Jews of Palestine had accomplished once liberated from the yoke of dhimmitude. The implication was clear that he harbored similar hopes for his own people.
Palestine, the holy land of the Jews, Christians and Islamites, had been turned into a desert haunted by ignorant poor diseased vermin rather than by human beings, as the result of six centuries of Muslim rule. Today Jewish rule has made this desert bloom into a garden, miles of sandy waste have been turned into smiling orchards of orange and citron, the chemical resources of the Dead Sea are being extracted and sold, and all the amenities of the modern civilised life have been made available in this little Oriental country. This is the lesson for the living history. [1]
The current essay provides a schematic overview of the same phenomena in India, focusing on the major periods of Muslim conquest, colonization, and rule.

Unfortunately, having died in 1958, he never existed for the mass inhabiting the stupid side of politics.
And the mass murderers never were in India, or had an effect on the contemporary Indian attitude towards Islam.

From last night, why bother wasting the keystrokes.
Unimaginable horrors were committed on both sides of the Hindu/Muslim "wars" on the subcontinent.

India is a natural Allie of any who oppose the islamists.
Some of the world history I was simply unable to read was what occurred in India regarding the (ongoing) Muslim Hindu conflicts. People do not forget, even over a century. India is a force to be reckoned with as far as Islam is concerned; And seeing as Islam is still in the sixth century and India is advancing towards the future at breakneck speed my money is on India.

About half of the workforce in the department where I work is from India. No one understands the US position regarding Islamofascism better than Indians. They may be competitors for jobs but such competition is honorable. They are clear allies in the global struggle against the impeding dark ages the Islamic world would like to impose.

Unimaginable horrors were committed on both sides of the Hindu/Muslim "wars" on the subcontinent.Unimaginable horrors were commited on both sides of every historical conflict involving muslims.
What is noteworthy, for three reasons, is that
1) No equal wholesale brutality was ever experienced in large extended conflicts involving everyone else. And
2) The brutality against muslims was always a reaction to the limitless brutality of the primitive, killer cult. And
3. Every target and enemy of islam eventually resorted to the killers' methods to both survive and to stomp the vermin into oblivion.
Unfortunately, they keep rising up again after a century or two of quiescence and delusional reorganization. In our century, the enabling catalyst is oil.
My theory is, deprive them of the wealth of oil, and they return to their primitive, relatively harmless existence.

In an age of available nuclear weapons and already established islamist resources derived from oil revenue, your theory falls into the category of conjecture.

One must never forget the muslim related extinction of Zoroastrianism. This once great religion was both proto-Judaism in it's influence on the Hebrews during the era of Babylonian captivity. Prior to that time, there was no concept of ethical retribution, the belief that our actions in this life have an impact in an afterlife. Another influence was the removal of all vestiges of animism from the Jewish religion. Last but certainly not least, the introduction of a "demon/devil" class as an opponent of God.
The influence on Christianity? Let's start with the celebration of Jesus birth on December 25, which also happens to be the "birthday" of Mitra. Jesus is the "son" of Yahweh, Mitra is the "son" of Ahura Mazda. Jesus was born of a virgin, Mitra was born of a virgin. Mitra was born in a cave, with shepards as the first to see Him, bringing gold and pleasant scents. Both were sent by their fathers to walk the Earth as their emissaries.
Just some food for thought.

But the Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Father. "Worthless!" as we haggle with the keeper, then brag about the worth to all who will hear.

Hey, if you can afford the Father's prices, go for it!
That's why everyone doesn't drive a Rolls. If everyone did, a Rolls would seem as common as a toyota.
