Cornyn is definitely Supreme Court material. If Bush selects him, Governor Perry might well appoint Henry Bonilla as his replacement, which gives hispanic Republicans a boost.

Agree, Perry could also appoint himself to fill Cornyn spot and avoid coming battle in fall. But then again would not want Dewhurst to run for gov. Hutch could then run for gov. and Bonilla for senate. Convoluted yes, but some fun.
