Did the people of Cuba elect Castro and people of Iraq elect Sadadm?
According to National Pravda Radio, Saddam was getting 99% of the vote when he was elected, therefore it was a mandate. Even Jimmah Carter would have said that it was legit.(/sarcasm).

Iran's New Leader Suspected in '89 Attack
William J. Kole, The Associated Press:
Austrian authorities have classified documents suggesting that Iran's president-elect may have played a key role in the 1989 execution-style slayings of an Iranian Kurdish leader and two associates in Vienna, a newspaper reported Saturday.
Austria's Interior Ministry and the public prosecutor's office are investigating alleged evidence pointing to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's possible involvement in the attack, the daily Der Standard reported. READ MORE

I know, but far too many people simply don't know what's going on. So many of us Americans lump Iran in with the radical Arabs without understanding that Iran is a Persian Nation. The leadership in Iran and those who are loyal to them deserve every insulting post we can throw at them. I was one of them who did just that. I didn't know anything about Iran, and after 9/11....well...
BUT it was here at FR, on these Iranian threads, that my eyes were opened to the truth. Educating folks so that they understand what is REALLY going on over there is the answer. I really appreciate these daily threads, and say THANKS to all who make them happen!
