Karl Rove, President Bush's chief political adviser, spoke with TIME mag's Matthew Cooper during a critical week in July 2003 when Cooper was reporting on a public critic of the Bush administration who was also the husband of a CIA operative.
But Rove did not leak the name of the CIA op Plame, Rove's lawyer said again Saturday night.
Robert Luskin said Rove never identified Plame to Cooper in those conversations.
"Karl did nothing wrong. Karl didn't disclose Valerie Plame's identity to Mr. Cooper or anybody else,'' Luskin said to the WASHINGTON POST. Luskin said the question remains unanswered: ``Who outed this woman? ... It wasn't Karl.''
NBC's Lawrence O'Donnell claimed this weekend, 'Rove Blew CIA Agent's Cover'.
"Emails will reveal that Karl Rove was Matt Cooper's source. I have known this for months," O'Donnell said.
Developing...
Calm down. At this time there is no evidence of any "bogus" (I'll refrain from the all caps) documents.
Rove was in fact in Cooper's notes as I correctly said this morning because he did talk to him. We all knew this months and months, if not years, ago.
It was twisted (as it was before) to hint darkly that Rove was "the leak", which he wasn't.
Joe Wilson himself pointed to Rove at the start and even said he'd like to see Rove "frog-marched" off to jail.
I doubt we'll see any libel suits, but it was as false a charge then as this pathetic regurgitation was.
"If the leaker had been Rove, it would have been released months ago, prior to the election."
EXACTLY!! It would have been a bombshell .. and because it wasn't "leaked" - I'd say it wasn't true .. it's just another WISH by the left - a wish they will allow the kooks to spew as red meet for their kooky left."
Another case of their repeating a lie enough to make it sound true.
If Rove didn't do it, documents and testimony prove he didn't do it, and Rove knows he didn't do it (obviously), he should, at minimum, publicly challenge "screwloose" McDonnell to give proof or an apology.
Then sue his ass anyway.....
I'm a little surprised Rove is debunking this story before Newsweak commits itself to another flagrant lie.

Don't Mess with Texas!
It has not been shown the Downing Street Memo was a fake. The poster is probably referring to the suspicious behavior of the reporter claiming he destroyed the original.
I'll add that the Downing Street Memo did not contain any bombshell information anyway despite the hysterical cries from the left about it.
Depends. Guilty of what?
Novak had two sources.
Plame was more than likely not undercover.
What's your theory of what was done wrong?
It's dinner time here but I can't wait to read what you think!

Dummie signed up tomorrow..LOL
Suing O'Donnell would not help - it would only make him look legit. Better to point at him and laugh.
Years from now, some trivia show will be explaining the difference between O'Donnell, Baghdad Bob, and Joe Isuzu. If you're old then and can remember which one is which, that will be a good day.
Hiya barker, long time no see

The Downing Street Memo hasn't been *shown* at all, save for an image on the Internet that shows an official seal on a supposedly retyped copy.
There's a reason the Downing Street Memo went away so quickly. It simply can't be verified to be authentic at all.
(I noticed that right off the bat, but thanks anyway)
:)
You are EXACTLY correct.
Miller must testify. The "turned over notes" are a red herring - - completely useless.
Authentic or not, it was a big nothing bore.
That was my point.
Rove has already signed a waiver waving any confidentiality guarantees from reporters he's talked to. Apparently, O'Donnell truly is an idiot. It looks like someone at Time got a look at the notes and saw Rove's name- and then he leaked it to O'Donnell. In his incredible idiocy, O'Donnell put 2 and 2 together and got 5- that Rove was the originator of the leak simply because he talked to Cooper. If anyone's going down, it's O'Donnell. And it says a lot about how confidential a reporter's notes are at Time.
the problem is - the journalists will lie, and they will use third hand emails and notes to "prove" this. Cooper meets with Rove, Rove tells him nothing, but Cooper can then easily send an email to some third party that says "Rove told me this". absent an audio tape, there really is no proof, but the MSM will spin it differently.
Thanks, I just linked it on this thread. Check the previous post.
Well of course Rove did it -- or at least, it's so utterly convenient for the media to make us think so, so that they can maybe hound Rove out before the USSC vacancy battles start up in earnest.
