Well...we are 37 minutes into the supposed "global concert of a lifetime" and MTV has managed to show 12 minutes of commercials for reality programming, interrupted 3 performances, and have shown a highlights package from the UK with the biggest names of the day already performing.
Yep. MTV has found a way to not show music on a day where music is all around them. So away with the Live 8 thread....
LOL
someone tell me...are these concerts seemingly well attended or what?
Anna raised some a- ,a-a-a awareness
Coldplay reduced to doing a 7PM opening show in London? Kind of a comdedown for them I would say...but Sir Paul's ego must be served!
they could've invited Ted Nugent ,... I saw him at The Filmore East when he was in The Amboy Dukes
Toby Keith up next in Philly.
LOL
but would Nugent have gone?
LOL. The irony of the most crass, commercial, socially irresponsible network begging you to help starving Africans while not even SLOWING DOWN their advertising sked and allowing you to actually see the event! And they just had a weight-loss commercial!
And Geldolf shamed eBay for allowing sellers to post Live 8 tickets to purchase. But Bob won't scold MTV, because they're his mouthpiece.
And the talking over the bands by the hosts is nothing new. I remember distinctly, during Live Aid in 1985, waiting all day for the Led Zeppelin reunion, and then having to watch Dick Clark talking on and on while you could see Zeppelin performing in the background! We were howling at the screen!
sure , Ted could bring a gaggle of FReepers ,500 or so
Just to get serious for a moment, I hope people do become aware on what is going on in Africa and Latin America.
Forget about aid and forgiveness of debts, force the G8 to come down hard on the corruption associated with all the kleptocracies. Of course then it would just be a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Oh well.
What's with the look??
Anyways, she sang Missisipi girl and a little piece of my heart.
I was happy as a clam
Now Toby..
sure enough. All the money will end up in the hands of the few... Some folks will feel good... the rest of africa will continue as before... Only thing that will help africa in the long run is a few more "regime changes"...
Bob Geldof - the Jerry Lewis of our time?
Sir Boob STF up , Leslie West screemin' Mississippi Queen would knock these limp a** act out
