Well...we are 37 minutes into the supposed "global concert of a lifetime" and MTV has managed to show 12 minutes of commercials for reality programming, interrupted 3 performances, and have shown a highlights package from the UK with the biggest names of the day already performing.
Yep. MTV has found a way to not show music on a day where music is all around them. So away with the Live 8 thread....
Leppard rocked out. The sound was awesome on Sugar.
I agree. I'm waiting for Pink Floyd.
Two months salary and all...
A friend of mine is a detective in Philly and said everyone was called in to work today
My son's dad is a cop, he timed his vacation perfectly. He's on the outer banks of N.C.
Happy Birthday, & if you plan to live to 103, 51 is not even middle age.
You went to the first one! I watched it all day waiting for the Led-Zep partial reunion. There is nothing of interest going on here... not to mention the crowd seems a little thin (in numbers) compared th 1985.
Did anyone see the person waving the PLO flag as the camera panned into Sting??
BTW: Sting's performance is a joke- they are already pinning this whole thing on 8 men....hey, here's a novel approach- why don't all the bands performing at Live 8 donate 90% of the profits from their next CD's and tours to the cause then ask the rest of us to give???
I was at Live Aid in Philly 20 years ago and understand the need to help- but first get the tyranical dictators out of power then come with your hand out...
Cute- the guy from ColdPlay, an America-hater, just said Mozambique is suffering from unfair trade.....guess the guy never heard of Mugabe...
*L* .. smart man
It must be crazy down there
LOL very funny! I wanted to stop smoking today, I have the patches right here. Yep, I'm looking at them, but the box is still sealed.
Yep and I got a t-shirt to prove it .. *L*
it was soooooooooooooo hot that day, they brought in a firetruck to hose people down to try and cool everyone down
I turned into a fried crispy critter that day
I don't even go down there for fireworks. I live near a playground and the ones shot off here are good enough.
Zeppelin's been my favorite band since I was 8 years old and first heard the "Immigrant Song". Isaw Zeppelin in 1977 (opening night at Madison Square Garden, 6/7/77)...when they came out at Live Aid I broke the fiberglass bench at JFK I was sitting on I jumped up and down so much.....
Floyd comes up here shortly I think, unless I read the schedule wrong. They should be on within the next half hour.
You can be a good guy and be rich.
You can be a bad guy and be rich.
But you can't be a sucker and be rich.
Did you go with Mr. Mo, or was this before you were tamed?
I was there also .. had great seats too
"Nothing says 'serious awareness raising charity function' like Anna Nicole Smith braless in a blouse composed of pink sequins."
"I guess she is showing her compassion by offering those udders to all those little starving African babies?"
The babies would get silicone toxic shock poisoning from her FAKE udder$. Yack!
Where? I'm live feeding Philly on AOL on my other computer. Sara MaClauklin (sp) is on.
It was before Mr. Mo1 .. it was back when I was 20 and had a carefree irresponsible life *L*
