LOL
That trip to the beach has certainly exhausted me.
I'm ready to have a hot dog and watch the fireworks. :)
Nice picture, Dolly!
Thanks for the ride to the fireworks...
We are watching the concert from DC on PBS (gasp!) channel and there was this British(?) guy singing his heart out. He chocked me up when he said that by next year, he hopes to sing the same song as a proud citizen of this great country. Think that song's title was "American Dream" or something like that.
How Blessed we all are to be living here in the greatest country on earth. At times I am broke, but I am still filthy rich with blessings. GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!
I found me!!!! But all I saw was that big hat on my head! LOL! Very cute, Dolly!
Great photo, Dolly -- I love it!
Thanks so much for having me in on this thread, and putting up with my keyboard spasms, and way past deadline -- I really appreciate it, and I enjoyed all your wonderful July 4 histories, graphics, and thoughts.
Chongster, always fun to play and laugh with you! I hope your Summer is going super, and all that TX heat hasn't combined with all that TX beer to make you too dizzy. Then again, I wish nothing but this state of mind...!
Spent the 4th in Baltimore with my Parentals, my kids, and my g****friend, who hooked us up with harbor-view rooms. We watched the fireworks from the hotel roof, with a perfect view over a great spectacle. It was a perfect show: wasn't too fancy, and wasn't in any way lame. They shot high-flying fireworks from across the harbor that could be seen from downtown Baltimore as well as from Ft. McHenry (most appropriately). At the same time they launched some low-level, loud, missile-like boomers from a barge planted just off the Inner Harbor. That one was cool -- bam! bam! bam! bam! bam! I loved it.
Oh, and we fulfilled a long fantasy of mine to play tennis on top of a building. (I think that one came from the book, Go Dog! Go!..., which has corrupted my life ever since I was three.) My kids, of course, "lost" a few balls over the roof's edge.
We're off to magnificent Maine for the rest of the Summer. I'll try to check in now and then, so please ping as ever -- I always appreciate it.
Well, thanks again, and best to you both, and to all. Happy Glorious Fourth!
PS Great bonfire!
