Thanks. A good, though somewhat depressing, chronology.

It's a history thing. Most people in some nations will refuse to admit national fault. They dream of "empire" and continue to issue propaganda to their own.
ICM Poll of Britons
Q3. In the dispute in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians, from what you have seen and heard about the conflict which of the two do you sympathise with more, Israel or the Palestinians?
Israel 14%
Palestine 28%
Both 14%
Neither 23%
Don't know 20%

A BBC poll of 4,000 people taken late last year, in the run-up to Holocaust Remembrance Day last Thursday, showed that, amazingly, 45 percent of all Britons and 60 percent of those under 35 years of age had never heard of Auschwitz -- the Nazi death camp in southern Poland where about 1.5 million Jews were murdered during World War II."
"Israel is No 1 threat to peace, says EU poll"
The Telegraph Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in Brussels
(Filed: 04/11/2003)
Excerpt:
The Eurobarometer poll of 7,500 EU residents found that 59 per cent deemed Israel "a threat to peace in the world", with the figures rising to 60 per cent in Britain, 65 in Germany, 69 in Austria and 74 in Holland.
The truth of the British Mandate matter is that Britain saw to it at the end of the Mandate period that all roads going in and out of Israel were controlled by the Arabs. The war started as soon as the British pulled out, and the real people of Israel won despite the evil arrangement.
