In fact, criminalizing abortion would help make people think about the gravity of the sexual act, its beauty and sacred character. Personally, I believe that some of the pro-life movement is much more about punishing and humiliating "those sleazy little whores" than worrying about babies.
Some people would change their behavior, and some people would not. They can work it out with God themselves as far as I am concerned.
