2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is reportedly consulting with a prominent evangelical minister who's coaching her on how to communicate with Christian fundamentalists, a top clergyman said this week.
"She has engaged the former president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Assemblies of God minister Dr. Don Argue," Rev. Rob Schenck said Thursday.
Schenck is president of the National Clergy Council. Appearing on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio show, Rev. Schenck told fill-in host Steve Malzberg that Rev. Dr. Argue had visited with the Clintons "numerous times in the White House" and is now helping Mrs. Clinton "learn the language of evangelicalism."
"If she could peel off a small percentage of the evangelical vote, she strongly increases her chances of winning in '08," Schenck told Malzberg.
The leading evangelical first detailed the stunning political development on Monday, in an interview on WBT Charlotte, North Carolina's Jason Lewis Show - where Malzberg was also filling in.
The revelation came two days after Schenck walked out of Rev. Billy Graham's New York City revival, where the Clintons appeared onstage. At the event, Graham suggested that Mr. Clinton should start a ministry of his own while letting Mrs. Clinton "run the country."
Under Rev. Argue's tutelage, Schenck said, Mrs. Clinton "has made a number of overtures to evangelical groups and leaders to sit down and meet with them." However she has yet to follow through and arrange an actual meeting, he noted.

Billy Graham, like many other Baptists, has been quick to "show off" particular "converts" as trophies, and giving them a platform before their walk has shown that their talk isn't nothing but hot air.
I hear Bill is starting a ministry for unwed mothers...he's helping them get started.

March 1, 1998:
NAE PRESIDENT ARGUE RESIGNS - Assembly of God minister Dr. Don Argue has unexpectedly resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals, effective April 15 (2/9 Chr. Today). He becomes president of Northwest College (AOG) in Kirkland, Wash. He had tried to revitalize NAE membership, calling it "too old, too white, and too male." He made strides in racial reconciliation and was a bridge-builder to charismatics and liberals. The NAE should actually be called the NAEC (Nat'l Assoc. of Evangelicals & Charismatics), given the growing preponderance of charismatics in its constituency. And, for the first time since its creation in 1942, the NAE's top leader (Argue, and a Muslim leader) addressed the general assembly of the liberal National Council of Churches (2/1/97 CC). NCC general secretary Joan Brown Campbell said regular meetings with Argue and other meetings with him involving the chairman of the Roman Catholic bishops' ecumenical committee show that increased cooperation between the NAE and NCC is occurring. She said this cooperation is being accepted by the NAE board and not by Argue alone, since he spoke at the NCC in 1996 with the NAE board's approval (Jan-Feb Foundation). The NAE (and Promise Keepers, and other new-evangelicals) are building bridges (ecumenism) into the enemy's camp instead of building walls (separation) to protect the sheep from ravenous wolves in sheep's garb.
Maybe I should also add this: same url:
CLINTON'S RELIGIOUS ADVISERS - American Baptist sociologist Tony Campolo and Promise Keepers founder Bill McCartney have both said they are praying for Pres. Clinton in the latest sexual misconduct scandal. Clinton also reportedly is talking to his SBC pastor Rex Horne, Robert Schuller, Bill Hybels, Gordon MacDonald, and pro-homosexual Methodist pastor J. Philip Wogaman whose church the Clintons attend in Washington. Campolo, worried that other ministers might distance themselves from Clinton out of concern for their own reputations, said (2/2 Chr. News): "I follow a man who really didn't give a hoot about his reputation. As a matter of fact, I think Jesus had the worst reputation in Jerusalem." How can such blind, undiscerning leaders help our president?
And then: J. Philip Wogaman:
Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice
oh phoeey, take a look at who are members of this Coalition: Coalition Member groups
And then more on Wogaman: Socialisms Obituary Is Premature
Wogaman is a United Methodist. Rev Don Jones (was Hillary's youth minister at the Park Ridge United Methodist Church). According to The Truth about Hillary, page 57:
Rev Don Jones had given Hillary a subscription to _motive_ [a magazine] as a high school graduation present. It was easy to see why Jones -- who would soon be fired by his congregation for advociating "socialist" views - thought so highly of _motive_. The Division of Higher Education of the United Methodist Church had published the magazine since 1941... but by 1965, the year of Hillary's high school graduation, the magazine was trumpeting a vry different tune.
It would come to resemble such New Left underground publications as the _East Village Other_ and the _Berkeley Barb_. Indeed, Motive was gleefully vulgar... Marxist writers were featured in the pages of _motive_. Renegade priest Daniel Berrigan contribution anti-Vietnam War poems... In 1972.. the last year of its publication, _motive_ devoted an entire issue to radical lesbian/feminist theme... Two of the editors were Rita Mae Brown... and Charlotte Bunch. ..."in a 1994 interview with Newsweek -- more than two decades after _motive_ folded -- Hillary proudly stated: "I still have every issue they sent me."
This left wing religious assault has claimed a toe-hold in the Religion forum of this website.
What you have there is the blind leading the blind.
But his pleasure won't last long. Truth has a great way of piercing the darkness.
Like many Catholics I never expected him to actively take the side of darkness.
That is one scary picture. Look at the eyes.
Exactamundo!
Don't forget that people fell for the phony adoption ploy during the '96 campaign.
Can we find a picture of Hillary walking in that Gay Pride parade on the same day that she later went on the stage at the Billy Graham crusade? That would be a pair of pics to always keep together, to show the deceit and duplicity of this woman.
thanks.
i enjoyed your comments the other night.
you are quite focused!

Dr. Don Argue had tried to revitalize NAE membership, calling it "too old, too white, and too male." He made strides in racial reconciliation and was a bridge-builder to charismatics and liberals.
Secretary of State Warren Christopher, on behalf of President Clinton, invited (Dr.) Don Argue to serve on the State Department Advisory Committee on Religious Freedom Abroad in 1996. This committee is composed of leaders and scholars of the world's major religious traditions and was established one and one-half years ago with the task of advising the Secretary of State on enhancing the protection and promotion of religious freedom abroad. He also serves as a co-chair for the State Department's subcommittee on Religious Freedom and Religious Persecution Abroad. This year, February 8th to March 1st, Dr. Argue visited China at the request of President Clinton and at the specific invitation of China's President Jiang Zemin.
