House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) criticized the measure. "When you withhold funds from enforcing a decision of the Supreme Court, you are in fact nullifying a decision of the Supreme Court," she told reporters. "This is in violation of the respect of separation of powers in our Constitution."
192 Republicans voted for and 31 against, with 39 Democrats voting for and 157 against. The lone independent, Rep. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), voted against.

That's just so ... Democrat. SCOTUS rules that states or localities can use eminent domain to favor private development projects, and Pelosi thinks that means that the Federal government has to financially support "private" development projects. Boggles the mind.

Nancy doesnt seem to mind that the Judicial is using their powers to make law, in violation os separation of powers.
Does she ever say anything smart?

Pelosi understands that the leftists have been presented a gift by the US Supreme Court.
The left now will point to the Kelo decision as "support" from the US Supreme Court for the redistribution of wealth.

C'mon. You can't be serious. Nancy Pelosi said that?!?
The Democrats really must intend to rule by judicial fiat, if Pelosi is going to say something as mind-numbingly stupid as this...
"When you withhold funds from enforcing a decision of the Supreme Court, you are in fact nullifying a decision of the Supreme Court,... This is in violation of the respect of separation of powers in our Constitution." -- House Minority Whip Nancy Pelosi
First of all, Nancy, the federal funds in question are not for the purpose of enforcement. This isn't the funding to pay for the JBTs to go and throw Ma and Pa Kettle off the farm. This money is for the Federal Goodies that Congress throws around, like road projects, bike paths, and the 4,698th Robert J. Byrd Federal Office Building in the series.
Secondly, Nancy, failure to provide Federal Goodies does not nullify anything. Many projects can go forward without hand-outs from the FedGuv. In fact, it may shock you to find out that human beings lived for countless millenia before the first Robert J. Byrd Federal Office Building was even on the drawing board.
And finally, Nancy, the power of the purse-strings resides inherently with Congress. Complaining that Congress failing to spend money at the whim of the Supreme Court violates the Separation of Powers is kind of like Jack the Ripper kvetchning because the necks of his victims has dulled his knife blade.
That said, Nancy, I hope you continue this line of reasoning and give full throated support to the Supreme Court over this issue for a good long time...

Riiiiiiight...nevermind the fact that the Stupreme Court Decision itself is in violation of the Constitution. People wonder why we're so hard on Democrats...and Nancy! You actually have a public official position. I'm going to have to point to my tag line below on this one.

It would be nice if Pelosi actually knew something about the way our constitution works before commenting on it.

"This is in violation of the respect of separation of powers in our Constitution." Pelosi of all people should know this is allowed under the Constitution. It has to do with the principle of checks and balances, something the Founding Fathers were greatly concerned with no matter what side of the federalism question they were on.

No Ms. Pelosi. It is the perfect example of the Constitutional principle of co-equal branches of government working at its best!
