A big problem, I think, that women face after they hit 30 or so and their metabolism changes is many work 9 to 5 (at minimum) at the day job then work 5 to 9 at the family job. It's kind of hard to fit exercise into this tiring schedule and it's neither safe or feasible to try to watch the kids while on the treadmill. And don't say Dad can watch the kids for a time because that doesn't happen and if it did there's grass to cut or groceries to get or dinner to cook or... or... or... instead.

If you watch most of her movies and compare her to leading ladies of today, she would definitely be considered fat. Today's ideal woman is skinny arms and legs with big boob implants on top.

I love Fit Tv :-) I could never be a size three or a six. I just had my physical and my doctor said I'm in good shape. I know I'm doing okay when my behind isn't scraping the floor hehehe.

There is a double standard and part of it is that men and women have different criteria for attraction. That being said, most (decent) men I know are not nearly as hard on women as women are on themselves and each other.

No one is perfect, and I suspect most guys who have a thing for the "perfect women of magazine" would be unbelievably shocked at the real non-airbrushed thing. And Women trying to look like them in real life come of completely differently than they look in the pics. They tend to have very high divorce rates because they are in search of perfection which does not exist. Sometime, take a look at Jamie Lee Curtis' photos when she was trying to prove this point

There are two things that bother me. One is the lack of common courtesy and kindness. We are far, far too judgmental about this sort of thing in this society. You never know why someone is overweight. Sometimes it is lack of exercise and poor diet. But it may be a Thyroid condition or something else they can't control. I have heard people loudly point out fat people and laugh. If I heard it, so did they. I can't imagine anything worse than that. And is it really going to make anything better? No, it's a cheap shot. It's truly despicable.

NOW, if that person starts going around and demanding all kinds of victim status, expecting the world accommodate their special needs, that is a different story. Those people cease being overweight people. They become professional victims. And IMO professional victims are a completely different issue all together.

excellent post! I used to have a really bad victim mentality about my appearance but I would get angry that I would be whining so much. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty embarassed at how jealous I used to get and upset. Now that I'm not single anymore and happy, more guys look at me *LOL*

Actually it's all relative don't you see. The one on the far right is actually looking pretty hot, she is probably a svelt 220!

What's amazing is how the first three make the one in pink look so, uh, palatable, by comparison.

(But since we're on the topic, WHY DID THEY POSE?! AARRGGHH!! MY EYES!)

My mom has already lectured me about looking good for my husband and waking up before he does so he doesn't wake up to a horrible looking wife.

Just the opposite. The sooner he gets used to it the better you off you both will be!

Like what? It's almost over for me so do tell....

If it's "almost over" for you, you've spent your existence being "kept." Either that, or you never connected your demeaning attitude to some of the more "interesting" things that have occured in your life.

I eat healthy and try to workout, but it's not easy to lose weight after having five children.

A woman who gave me 5 children would always be beautiful.

You're right. My girlfriend has gained weight to avoid sex with her husband, but it isn't working. He's still interested, so she eats more. Round & round it goes.

It's amazing the tricks the mind can play, the one in the pink is the "skinny" one on the far right! ROTFLOL

I don't think men can help themselves when looking at younger girls.

That's very understanding of you--recognizing that it is the way men are built.

They are probably overweight because they are unhappy, not the other way around.
