It's definitely not the guy holding the hostage's arm. But you're right, it may well be the other one, further to the viewer's right, who appears in another picture (shown on another thread) to have a very similar profile.

Question: was the one of the viewer's far right actually one of the hostage takers? Or was he a negotiator of some sort? We've got to make sure we've got our facts straight
