Maybe. You prove it, I'll believe you. Until then, I'll keep working out.

Could it be that those who lost weight on purpose had been told to by a doctor because they ALREADY had risk factors?

Well this gets posted as I have started an effort to get 15 pounds underweight. I am probably twenty over but no longer 19; have lots of energy; turn up great exam results; FAA will still let me fly high powered airplanes with people on board; don't view the issue as a crisis. Both my grandfathers lived to be well over 90 together with all my immediate ancestors--but; am considering the proposition that I might extend my enjoyment of life by being underweight. Maybe that is wrong.

I'm wondering if the people who died lost their weight by not eating foods our bodies require to survive. For example, when pets get sick and stop eating all together, they stand the chance of developing liver problems because the fat they have stored in their body breaks apart and ends up in the liver thus causing liver malfunction. Perhaps this is similar to what happens when some overweight people try extreme methods of dieting, like just eating grapefruit or drinking liquids to lose weight.

that study was done in iraq with people who were losing their heads.

that's a severe weight loss, and always leads to death.

I have lost 110 lbs. What does that mean for me?

Man, are you S-O-L!!

I sure hope I can duplicate your efforts over the next two years, though!

There may be something to this. I lost 58 pounds in five months and almost died when my immune system failed and vasculitis attacked my organs.

But it doesnt speed up the death process. There are other studies that find that obese people live longer when diagosed with cancer.

What did you eat??? How long did it take? Congratulations!!!!

Lot of chicken fish. very little red meat. NO FRIED FOODS. Watch your carbs to a certain extent. Butter sugars. I went a little extreme. I was eating a grilled chicken salad every night . Low fat dressing. IF I was not full more raw vegetables. It got real tough at times. Now I only eat about 1,200 calories a day and they are all good calories. I also take one day a week and pig out on a burger and fries pizza etc. Basically eat to live not live to eat. I did it in one year.
