How can Mugabe POSSIBLY be doing anything wrong?!?!?! He is a socialist AND he is black! And everyone knows that blacks can do no wrong and that everything socialists do is for the greater good!

Mugabe was destroying Zimbabwe when Clinton was in office but Americas "first black president" apparently was afraid of pointing fingers and offending blacks in this country.

When will he speak out against the SCOTUS Kelo decision? That decision follows the same policies regarding private property as Mugabe.

"Ours is the nation that called this a genocide and we take this situation in Darfur very seriously."

I'm sure the folks over there feel much safer now.

there is nothing to gain by the US getting involved over there. if we do anything, it will become our problem. let's just encourage the UN to stop Mugabe.

It's not much (God knows it barely anything at all), but it is something.

A team of advisers (SEALs) and a few dozen c-130s filled with heavy weaponry would be something too, but I guess a few words will have to do. (Don't want to stick our necks too far out over something like this.)

Destroying Zimbabwe? Just because he stole the farms. killed the owners, plowed the farm, killed whoever got in his way, ordered the slaughter of all the animals?
Why has be been allowed to get away with this? Magabe has
been getting away with atrocities for years, where is the "Mouth" Maxine Waters and other members of the black Caucus, environmentalists, Peta, and all the other protestors. They scream when a red winged whatever is accidentally killed here?

The story is a mortal sin, it has been allowed to go on way too long.

Why do other countries think it's just fine to ignore atrocities going on next door?

As bad as it is in Zimbabwe, there is no political capital to be spent by the President on it. The Left will scream, "Imperialism!" while the Right will yell, "It's not our problem!"

1) There are - and have been - many, many good people in Zimbabwe, a huge number of them obviously the target of Mugabe and his crazed thugs.

To not express solidarity with those seeking an end to rampant tyranny and murder would, through silence, be effectively in league with the oppressors.

2) Zimbabwe and the whole of the African continent are an integral part of the war on terror. There are movements throughout that continent to establish and enlarge the very categories of Islam that are conducting terror.

The war on terror, and especially that pertaining to radical Islam, is worldwide and must be conducted accordingly.
