You may be right that a jury would not convict, but consider two things:
The general rule is you don't draw your firearm unless you are justified in using it; and
In California, unless you are a Democratic US Senator or something, if you are packing, you are packing illegally.
On balance, I would recommend against brandishing.

There is *nothing* in CA worth surrendering your right to self defense to live there.
In a rational state, like TX, such an action is in the gray area between a responsible action and brandishing. Usually brandishing is defined as "displaying a firearm in a manner calculated to alarm or threaten without justification." However, CCW holders are supposed to lock their pistols in their cars before entering certain places, and that means that you have to check your pistol before storing it and after storing it....
