Mueller will share authority for choosing the head of the new service with National Intelligence Director John Negroponte.

The Defense Department is working to determine the right mix of bombers and other warplanes to fight China if it ever became necessary, President Bush's choice to become the next Air Force chief of staff said on June 29 2005. Lining up such firepower would top his list of priorities if confirmed as the Air Force's top military officer, Gen. Michael Moseley said at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

I feel like I did the day I won a running race at school because all the fast kids were sick. I discovered I was the fastest of the slow kids. Ha!
How I identify with that post! Except I don't think I ever had the joy of competing when the gifted athletes were out sick. =\ Many years later, I discovered I have asthma (which I always suspected) and realized how much that was a part of slowing me down.
Well, as we get older we find our little niches. =)
