QUOTE (from Tuesday): "We fight today because Iraq now carries the hope of freedom in a vital region of the world, and the rise of democracy will be the ultimate triumph over radicalism and terror. And we fight today because terrorists want to attack our country and kill our citizens, and Iraq is where they are making their stand. So we'll fight them there, we'll fight them across the world, and we will stay in the fight until the fight is won." Link to full story

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales (R) and FBI Director Robert Mueller leave a Justice Department news conference in Washington June 29, 2005. The pair made remarks after President Bush gave U.S. authorities new powers on Wednesday to block assets of companies believed to be helping North Korea, Iran and Syria pursue nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.

The Defense Department is working to determine the right mix of bombers and other warplanes to fight China if it ever became necessary, President Bush's choice to become the next Air Force chief of staff said on June 29 2005. Lining up such firepower would top his list of priorities if confirmed as the Air Force's top military officer, Gen. Michael Moseley said at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Hiya Star! Here's one for you.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., gestures during a news conference on Capitol Hill today to discuss Social Security. House Republican leaders pledged to seek a vote this year on legislation creating a scaled back version of President Bush's call for personal retirement accounts under Social Security.

Wow! First time for me. Thanks for doing a great job Gretchen.

I feel like I did the day I won a running race at school because all the fast kids were sick. I discovered I was the fastest of the slow kids. Ha!

How I identify with that post! Except I don't think I ever had the joy of competing when the gifted athletes were out sick. =\ Many years later, I discovered I have asthma (which I always suspected) and realized how much that was a part of slowing me down.

Well, as we get older we find our little niches. =)
