Why don't we trade their folks for Democrats?

Why don't we give them the Liberal, Hate-America-First group, and take their thirsting-for freedom people?

This is the dumbest article I have read in a long time. Comparing the Bush administration (re-elected by 60+million Americans) to Khameinei's fascist thugs who prevent whoever they don't want to win from ever running is a horrible exercise in moral relativism. Lumping all Iranians together is also ridiculous. The Iranian people who want their freedom actually are very pro-American. The mullocracy rightly understands that the US is their enemy and is their opposition when it comes to keeping their own people in shackles.
The parallel between Iran and the US as "theocracies" is laughable. The last time I checked anyone can worship any God they want in the US (or have no God at all) and still be treated the same under the law. The US Constitution prevents the state from establishing a particular religion. The Iranian Mullahs on the other hand...

I get the impression that many Iranians are pro-US, or at least not actively anti-US, but their nut-case Islamic fascist leaders are a different story.

Certain malevolent groups will continue to foster the enmity between Iran and America for their own ends. They are master of the art of polarization and zeitgeist shaping of a nation's population.
Who benefited from the Iraq-Iran War where hundreds of thousands of young men died ?

There are many ethical Persians as there are many ethical Americans.

It's funny how the most "pro-US country in the region". Just elected a terrorist as President. He led the takeover of the US embassy in Iran '79.
Here's a link to hear a former hostage state he interrogate him and once told a guard not to let the pigs out of their cells unless it was it was to execute them.
Iran is a country of terrorists, run by terrorists exporting terrorism.
I will hate Iran forever.

But it is no secret here that the Iranian people may be the most pro-US nation in the Middle East. If you ask me, they sure have a funny way of showing it.

But first, officials say, Iran expects to be treated as an equal
Iran will never get that level of respect from this country as long as it continues to fund groups that are actively involved in killing Americans, as long as it seeks to export militant islam around the World and as long as it actively pursues nuclear technology which is clearly meant for offensive purposes.
