In recent years, the teaching of how checks and balances work in America to guard freedom has virtually come to a standstill. This ruling by the Supreme court joins a long list of blows to our basic form of government and to our most sacred documents which were set up to protect individuals against confiscation of their property..They (the courts) have already confiscated our intellectual property regarding the free practice of religion without interference of goverment through a tyrannical court system. Now, it is time to hold to the fire the feet of our elected representatives regarding these court rulings. They have the power to stop this madness..If they do not, then I predict civil war down the road. Americans will roll over only so far on this.

I seem to be on a Heinlein kick tonight. Appropriate tho. Hopefully it won't come to that. The '06 elections are going to be interesting(in the Chinese sense)

Respectfully, I must disagree with you on half of your sentence copied above. Americans are far too happy with what they have built in this land and will not wreck it with another Civil War.

What they almost certainly will do is shoot the offending individuals. To use an analogy with current military weapons, look on Americans as a potential "Smart weapon" not the old fashioned unguided iron bomb.

Hopefully, it will not come to that. What we are observing now with the Kelo decision and the California Coastal Commission decision is, I hope, the high water mark of the flood of socialism that crept into America when the Democratic party was taken over by the Commies and Socialists displaced from their original organizations by Sen. McCarthy.

My guess is that America will drop the "Liberal" or commie, or socialist pols and judges. And count on their so doing without the costs and suffering of a Civil War.

On the other hand, if I were one of the Foul Five, I'd be thinking of retiring to some place far, FAR away. And soon.

Free citizens will only tolerate infringement of their Unalienable Rights. They won't tolerate abolishment of them.
