Federal survey showed Bush 'amnesty' plan encouraged illegals to enter
Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., the most outspoken member of Congress on the issue of illegal immigration, wants an investigation into why a study of aliens crossing the border was discontinued by the Bush administration after initial results indicated the president's proposed "temporary worker proposal" plan encourages illegals to enter the U.S.
Tancredo and watchdog legal group Judicial Watch released previously undisclosed documents relating to the Border Patrol's 2004 survey. The survey asked illegal aliens whether they had heard of a U.S. government amnesty plan for illegal aliens (61 percent had) and whether the amnesty plan influenced their decision to cross the border (45 percent answered that it did).

I will not defend the president on immigration, but I will not belly ache and make it a cause for not supporting him. As for me bellyaching I was not, I was simply agreeing with sunny. The real complainers are the ones trashing Bush. As for B-rod, the less I talk to that guy the better. I am for controlling our borders, I am for taking action such as the minute men are doing, I am for our government enforcing the law and arresting illegals and deporting them.
However, as much as I want our government, not just bush, it takes them all, to take control of our ILLEGAL immigrant problem I will not make it a single issue and destroy the faith I have in the man.
Think how lucky you would be to have J.F. Kerry in the white house. We would be fighting terrorists here already and wouldn't be bitching about it because we wouldn't have the right to communicate on the internet with each other and the MSM would have all other news sources blacked out. Oh, yes, we could do a lot worse than Bush.
Tell me, just who do you think in the US right now could do better?

"They talk like Republicans " They ARE the Republicans. They haven't left the Republican Party, you have. If you disagree with the Republican party that's fine, but don't think that you represent Republican thinking instead of the Republicans.

"I was walking by a Payless shoe store, I noticed that the signage on the outside was in Spanish! " So? Why does that make you feel uncomfortable? Visit Houston sometime. There is one area where the street signs are in Vietnamese, areas where most of the signs are are in letters I can't decipher, areas where most of the signs are in Spanish.
So what? It doesn't hurt me. It doesn't make me feel insecure. It doesn't threaten me. I welcome the new experiences. I like trying new foods, learning new things, talking to people who aren't identical to me and listening to different bands. It's my choice to mingle with different people or to stick with my own kind. I like having the options.

You can call yourself whatever you want but when people like me stop voting for the RINO bastards you can go try to con your illegal alien friends to vote for you.
The Republican Party is not owned by the big money guys and they are going to find this out in 2006. George Bush is not the Republican Party, I am. Me and millions of other people who want him to succeed.
When someone says he believes in national security, less government and freedom and then his every action is in opposition to what he said, he is not a Republican he is a LIAR.
There is a backlash coming for the LIARs from the Angry Middle of America.
I have only one comment to you, "beware the cool-aid".

Actually I thought I was quite specific.
Are you saying Bush has never said that immigrants are doing work Americans won't do? I have heard him repeatedly say this. This is a bald faced LIE.
I offered you the recent story of a U.S. Navy ship repair contractor in San Diego whose workforce was comprised of more than 50% illegal aliens. Are you saying that repairing U.S. Navy warships are jobs that Americans won't do?
Illegal aliens are in fact displacing American workers. Do you not believe this? It is a Lie to state otherwise.

"George Bush is not the Republican Party, I am."The Republican primary voters didn't seem to agree with you. President Bush has not changed his position on any of the issues in five years. The Republican voters knew exactly where he stands and overwhelmingly endorsed him.
The Party has spoken.

well we better get used to it.
W is gone off the reservation on this immigration issue.
I understand from some folks who actually tally this government cost stuff, that W has DOUBLED the size of the federal government, both in personell and $$$ of expenditure.
Is that even possible?
I thought 'willie the sink' was the big government icon.
Sadly it is looking like W has taken his crown.

"IF YOU CAN DO IT ANY BETTER THAN BUSH, THEN DO IT; AND IF YOU CAN'T SHUT THE H****LL UP!!!!!"You tell me that after some Islamic militant shows up at an elementary school and goes on a raping and killing spree after walking across the border. A border left unguarded by George W. Bush, so McDonalds can sell cheap hamburgers. Lenin was right, "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them." Do you understand that following blindly is how countries are destroyed.
PS: I will not shut up so that you can do the Republican version of Baghdad Bob, "everything is OK, ignore what you see with you own eyes".

good points all.
but short of another civil war and balkanization of our union...
nothing will change, we are FAR FAR FAR past the event horizon.
I expected this stuff from the Clintons
I did NOT expect it from our side of the aisle.
Conservatism is politically castrated and devoid of any power to rule or govern. Brain dead with but a few living exceptions.
Long live the new socialist empire of America...

Maybe the Republican Party need another message. David Drier was cost almost $1 million dollars to get elected in a safe district. Just think if we could run candidates in the Republican Primaries all over the country we wouldn't win but we would cost the "Cheap Labor Lobby" millions to keep there toadies in office. Just a thought.

Whatever you may think a conservative is, you cannot possibly call the Republican President, Republican National Committee, and Republican Congressional leadership RINOs.
They are the real Republicans by definition, those opposed to them are RINOs by definition.
The term "RINO" is used to describe a person bearing the title "R"epublican, but not supporting the traditional "r"epublican philosophy. Holding a high position in the party that bears that name does not exempt one from being labeled a RINO.

WND at it again.
So, 55 percent say the plan doesn't encourage them.
Yet, because a minority says it does, the WH is covering something up? Please.
