FORT BRAGG, N.C. - President Bush on Tuesday appealed for the nation's patience for "difficult and dangerous" work ahead in Iraq, hoping a backdrop of U.S. troops and a reminder of Iraq's revived sovereignty would help him reclaim control of an issue that has eroded his popularity.
In an evening address (sic) at an Army base that has 9,300 troops in Iraq, Bush was acknowledging the toll of the 27-month-old war. At the same time, he aimed to persuade skeptical Americans that his strategy for victory needed only time not any changes to be successful.

President Bush hasn't even given his speech yet and already the media is writing post-speech analysis, lying through their teeth when they claim Bush actually said any of this. If he hasn't made the speech yet, all you can do is say you saw the written speech, not claim he made it. Tch.

This was apparently cobbled from prereleased whithouse excepts.
I Hope the Pres Wows em with the stuff he is keeping for the A material
Is the Author Miss Cleo?, The speech hasn't happened yet
I wonder why they didn't mention the most talked about moment during the speech? I would have thought for sure coverage of Durbin, having snuck in without anyone's knowledge, streaking across the stage would have received some coverage.
Dion Warwick, PING! The left is channeling their HATE to an inbox, newspaper, news cast near you!
Miss Cleo ping.
Still the president is giving the wrong speech at the wrong time. The public does not support an Iraq pull out and the president should focus on the next challenge, support the troops in a gung ho fashion and avoid any hand wringing. Iraq is ours, Syria, Iran, N Korea and Al Queda must be dealt with.
Amen. I'd really love to hear that kind of speech.
Good eye, great post.
Thanks ;)
Anyone listening to the speech? Is there a live thread?
I'm listening
And of course the left will deride him, calling him "a ninny", a "dumbkopf" & "not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer". But that does not matter to us, cause we we know it is not true.
We are Freepers! Faithful unto death! Never give up, never give in, never question why, ours is but to do and die!
For God, Country and for Iraq!
Somehow I think Bush will not phrase it quite that way.
You're on to her too, eh? She's beyond "biased" - she's a full-fledged propagandist.
Watched Speech. Also watched Clark on Fox News. He said Iraq is now a great tool for terrorist recruitment. Wasn't that the case when the Soviet's invaded Afghanistan? The Somalia mess? Suicide bombing of the USS Cole? Or taking down WTC towers?
She is such a twit.
His poll numbers would go through the roof if he came out and announced he had a plan that would bolster border security and remove millions of illegal invaders. His lack of action is hurting his credibility.
