PRESTO, Pa. (AP) -- Philadelphia Flyers center Jeremy Roenick has some advice for hockey fans who blame the NHL lockout on players' greed: Once it's finally settled, stay home.
``We're going to try to make it better for everybody, period, end of subject. And if you don't realize that, then don't come,'' said Roenick, who spoke at a charity golf event he played in over the weekend.
``We don't want you at the rink, we don't want you in the stadium, we don't want you to watch hockey,'' he said Saturday at the Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational in suburban Pittsburgh.

Games? What games?
What's "hockey"?
He's obviously so full of himself he's overflowing. I bet his IQ is the same as the number on his jersey or close to it.......
Uh, OK. I'll continue to not go to the games.
Thanks Jeremy, I won't.
(Brilliant public relations move on your part!)
No kidding. ;)
OK Jeremy, I will take your advice. I'll stay home.
Hey Roenick! I can't come back, I never started. Hockey sucks!
Once the season starts, there will be far fewer fans in the seats, lower TV ratings (if they even GET a TV contract), and the NHL will find out how irrelevant they really are.
"Sure, there are 500,000 Canadians in living in LA, they all moved here for one reason; THEY HATE HOCKEY!"
What an arrogant pompus &$%hole. I guess it's easy for him to say that since he has money coming out of every orifice in his body.
What's funny is that Robert Esche (Flyers goalie) is siding with the owners and saying that players are being greedy.
What a numskull. He actually thinks he is paid to play hockey, when he is actually paid to entertain the fans. No fans, no money.
That was easy, wasn't it?
I think you'll be getting your wish, JR. Get used to 4,000-5,000 attendance figures, even in Philly. You'll see an initial surge and then it will fall off a precipice.
I don't blame players' greed per se, I blame the sport as a whole for: overexpanding into markets that don't care, overpaying on unsustainable revenue, interconference games that mean little or nothing to the fans, and ticket prices that mean younger fans or large families can never reasonably afford to attend games and build interest for the next generation.
When the NHL folds or dramatically contracts, in spite of this new agreement, remember all of the above.
I can't wait to see the attendance for the next Columbus vs. Atlanta game. I hope it's nationally televised.
I saw the interview on TV. He also said the fans who are unhappy can "kiss my ass" and "go screw yourselves". Classy guy.
``We don't want you at the rink" -- Roger that one!
"we don't want you in the stadium" -- Went there for an outdoors expo once.
"we don't want you to watch hockey" -- Why start now!
Do you thnk we can get this guy a job as head of PR for ABCNBCCBSCNN?
