[Trust but Verify]

I'm glad to see two people know the difference between training discipline and abuse. My son is contemplating joining the Army or Marines. I would not want him subjected to this kind of treatment by superiors.

Why would anyone join if they knew they were going to be treated this way?

It seems a bunch of old school vets here have not quite figured out that in an all volunteer forces you can't run off all the people on the first day. And like I said above. The results speak for themselves. I have not seen anyone from post '85 on here whine that training was not hard enough.

With all due respect, he should consider the Air Force or the Coast Guard instead.
