San Francisco -- "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul urged California legislators to force nail salons to clean up their act, testifying Monday about her yearlong health ordeal after an unsanitary manicure.
Abdul said a trip in April 2004 to a Studio City nail shop that used unclean equipment sent her in and out of the hospital, and made her the butt of late-night talk show jokes.
"Being a professional dancer, I'm no stranger to pain, but this time the pain was so excruciating that even my hair touching my thumb caused me to scream,"

I used to get tips done. I would get them for two or three weeks at a time then let the nails rest. It was a fad but now I keep my nails natural and grow them long. Well until today till I had to cut them for a nursing class. I save a lot of money *lol*

Let's add another element to this issue...
Miss P got "busy" and the recommended two weeks between fills turned into three or four weeks, and the acrylic on thumb in question started lifting....and...take it from there.
Could there always be improvements in any profession, yes!, but let's hear...the REST of the story, too ;-)
