In practice, effective leftist and communist are more akin to little dictators than ideological brothers. They’re not ideologically unified to the degree that they’d surrender their fiefdom (like the US) to a greater good of world communism if it wasn’t to their benefit. That’s why other communist nation’s haven’t unified. In part, it’s why the EU is faltering.

The lack of independence among USSR states was in large part a result of their capture and rapid subjugation by Stalin in WWII, and AFAIK had little to do with the supremacy of their ideological unity.

I think that only a small minority of anti-war people want dictatorial power. But perhaps it’s a majority among their leadership depending on how that’s defined. My sense is that most are just emotionally disturbed, misguided and acting out and want the easy answers and salvation that the left promises to the harsh realities that they can’t or won’t face. I suspect that most would love a far left version of the US, with a trendy progressive interpretation of the Constitution that protected them, even if it meant our standard of living went into freefall, but with them immune of course.

It’s those people that I’m concerned about because their message is persuasive. I think that the hard core US haters are generally counter productive and self destruct, as long as they’re forced to expose themselves like this.

No, not extreme. You advocate reasonable measures in a time of war.

Text of U.N. Security Council Resolution

Following is the text of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1546, adopted unanimously June 8, which:
1)- endorses the new interim government of Iraq,
2) - allows the multinational force to provide security in partnership with the new government,
3) - sets out a leading role for the U.N. in helping the political process over the next year,
4) - and calls upon the international community to aid Iraq in its transition:

You did remember correctly. This resolution renders these lunatics even more irrelevant.

Damn, that's right they would be sending money to the other side. Maybe it's time for the intelligence sources to start monitoring these organizations banks accounts for these transactions. If caught that would prove treason, then try them accordingly. I saw some of the protests signs in the posts above. "We will support the troops when they start shooting their officers" and "I like New York better now that the WTC is gone." This goes beyond free speech.

These are the creeps who plant white crosses on the beach in Santa Monica...

OH ... is not the beach in Santa Monica PUBLIC LAND???

Wouldn't want to breach the bogus law regarding "separation of church and state" would they?

Yes, in fact it's well known as "The People's Republic of Santa Monica."

See, we don't sue when they do stuff like that. Maybe we should...

Green parties, islime-ic radical groups, Greenpeace, "Not In Our Name"....as Mad magazine would phrase it, "The usual gang of idiots." But, at least now the scumbags on the left are showing their true colors (as if we ever doubted), and maybe the iggerunt publick might GET A CLUE as to just how perverse and TREASONOUS the left really is!

There is a big difference between voicing one's opinion and helping the enemy,

Tell that to "Brian," who answers the phone at Senator Orrin Hatch's D.C. office. I phoned all senators to demand censure and expulsion of Turban Durbin, and "Brian" tried to argue with me that "we can't censor [sic] someone for 'controversial' remarks."

I replied that there's a difference between being "controversial" and being a "traitor," and Durbin definitely crossed that line.

Speaking of the 'enemy within,' it was discouraging to encounter "Brian's" attitude in a Republican senator's office.

I'm finding out this year that it matters not whether there is an (R) or a (D) behind someone's name, but what they really think on the important issues.. everyone's gonna get judged on their own merits from now on..

I'm always amused when these "compassionate" anti-war folks are suddenly so interested in championing the Iraqi people they seem to have only discover when we went to war with them. When tens of thousands more were dying under Saddam I guess they weren't in a war, so they weren't worth defending.

Some of those who support the war, too, seem to have only discovered their compassion for the Iraqis now that we have taken it upon ourselves to fight Saddam, but to me that's a case of waking up to a wrong we should have corrected long ago and acting in our best interest; the "peace" folks, on the other hand, claim this selfless passion for "innocents" just as someone is actually HELPING their situation.

The "peace" brigades are only interested in victims if their victim status can somehow be linked to US wrongdoing, no matter how crazy the link. I wonder if any of these dopes ever thinks about that. Of course, first they'd have to think...

See, we don't sue when they do stuff like that. Maybe we should...

I think filing suits against them is the only way to stop this nonsense.

I also think it is time "we the people" sued the government for using taxpayer money to provide korans, beads, rugs and all the rest of the crap, citing the old separation of church and state, public ground mantra. Especially after the 10 commandments ruling by our judicial masters yesterday.

"we can't censor [sic] someone for 'controversial' remarks."

But you can sure as heck remove them from positions ala Trent Lott.

TurbanDurbin still needs to be censured followed by resignation or expulsion, IMO.

And more particularly, to quote exactly, noting that in the event sovereignty was transferred a few days prior to the date in the resolution (emphasis added) ...

The full text of resolution 1546 (2004) reads as follows:

The Security Council,

Welcoming the beginning of a new phase in Iraq’s transition to a democratically elected government, and looking forward to the end of the occupation and the assumption of full responsibility and authority by a fully sovereign and independent Interim Government of Iraq by 30 June 2004

I've been present several times when a leftist's referred to the "occupation," and have said; "There is no 'occupation,' it ended last June." On each occasion the leftist has afforded a happy (if not uncommon) opportunity to dumbfound by asking; "Who says so?".

So, these "anti-war activists" aren't anti-war activists afterall. In fact, just the opposite.

I believe it is time to start beheading people just for sympathy for the War on Terror.

I think you mean sympathy for the terrorists.

I share the sentiment.

Go figure, the antiwar people turn pro-guerrilla-warfare... are we surprised?

I say send them all there for a free 3 month vacation. I am sure we can generate enough funding to send these smelly hippies to the middle east. Let them stay there for a few months and see if they don't have a life changing experience.
