The girl had asked for and received the keys to the car, which belonged to a family friend, Shanley said.

No charges there?

The officers couldn't see the driver because the car's window's were tinted...

Fourth Commandment: Be Sure of Your Target and What's Beyond You can't stop a shot in mid-air. So don't fire unless you know exactly where your shot is going and what it will strike. Never fire at a sound, a movement or a patch of color. Never shoot without being absolutely sure of what you're shooting at, and what's behind it. Remember, bullets can travel great distances with tremendous velocity -- know how far your shot will go if you miss your target or your bullet ricochets.

That girl is lucky she wasn't killed. What in the world was she thinking? And what was the "family friend" thinking? People can be such idiots!

A sheriff's deputy trying to stop an erratic driver fired at the car when it lurched toward him, not realizing a 12-year-old girl was behind the wheel, officials said. Neither she nor her 6-year-old brother were hit.

He did nothing wrong. He was acting to stop the vehicle by stopping the driver. Not knowing who was driving is absolutely immaterial, if his life was in danger. Would it matter if it were Santa Claus apparently trying to run hime down?

Good grief! Where's the childrens parents? Also, why don't the police shoot out the tires of cars to stop them or to slow them down?

Yet she was charged with auto theft. I wouldn't charge her with attempted murder either.

The 'family friend' must have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

The girl is very lucky to be alive, and needs some time at Juvenile Hall to contemplate her good fortune.

It's a wonder the sheriff's deputy didn't have a heart attack when he learned who was behind the wheel.

Thankfully the cops missed (again). But a few weeks ago numerous cops openned up on an SUV, with nearly 100 shots being fired. I know one cop was hit, and I think the driver was slightly wounded. Yesterday on FR, I read an article where car theives had stolen a tow truck, and then tried stealing a car out of an apartment complex parking lot. The owner of the car chased after them, running. He fired again either 3 or 6 times and hit the driver in the head. Who last I knew was in serious condition.

Why is it cops are shooting their guns, but not hitting anything, except each other? Meanwhile, an ordinary citizen fires 6 shots at a car theif, while running after him, and hits him in the head.

Now I know why the libs want to take away our guns. We'll actually hit what we're shooting at.
