Not even close to justifying this article's title.
"It is either pure bluster or this guy is a complete idiot."
Perhaps it is both. There is a Baghdad Bob quality to that statement. Isn't Abizaid the one that contradicted Cheney's statement that the "insurgency" was in its' death throes? What I would really like to hear is a regular body count with the terrorist dead categorized by nationality and where they were killed. That is what I call pleasure reading.
Uh-huh. Why not bust all three? We should be well beyond monitoring at this point.
Well now, that's reassuring.
John Abizaid is using CNN and AFP to play head games with Z and whats left of him and his thugs.
I will say, the fact that they're already stressing that getting Zarqawi is important, but still leaves much to be done, seems to me to be a good sign that they think they can get him soon...
I still give Abizaid the benefit of the doubt on this.
"The US military is close to locating al-Qaeda's frontman in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, General John Abizaid, the commander of US forces in the region, said."
Pullleeeezzzeee, not again, enough of these false starts.
pysops..
Yup. Make'em move, easier to catch/kill.
"I think this is just disinformation used in a way to get him moving.
"They have better opportunities finding him while he's moving than they do while he's nested.
"He does less damage while moving, as well."
You are probably right on all of the above. When he moves, more than likely he exposes part of his covert network. That makes the exposed ones vulnerable to engagement, being killed, being wounded or being captured.
"pysops.."
Thanks to CNN, AFP and the Islamo news mongers, the foot print of this pysops is very large.
Less innocents die if we nail him on the move than when he's nested among them.
"Less innocents die if we nail him on the move than when he's nested among them."
It is best to kill serpents and snakes outside a house than inside a house, particuliarly if you use firepower.
All this talk of making a deal with the terrorists, knowing where they are .......
Sounds like they know where they are, but are trying to draw out the others in the network. Create reasons for the contacts to reach the leaders and check to see if it verifies the location. Create a need for the network to communicate and track each and everyone of them.
They would not be publicizing this without a purpose and it sure is not giving up our goals. I trust Rumsfeld and our military. They will not let us down.
Maybe this is a psy-op to smoke him out and force him to move and then nail him. Then of course, it may not be. I suspect we will be told when they do nail the dude. Hopefully he will be at room temp at that time.
Kick A$$
Waste the Zarq man already!!
We clearly don't know where Zarqawi or bin Laden is or we would have captured them. When we found out where Saddam was, we
caught him in his hole....I wish admininstration figures would stop this public boasting!
And whatever happened to Mullah Omar???
