What surprises me is the anger on some other threads about aledged KGB influence in the Russian church but there's not the same level of outrage that in America the Supreme court and ACLU adamatly argue for a state endorsed freedom from religion as bad or worse than the Soviet Era distrust of religious minded folks. Today's state of religion in Russia is extremely brighter than is the situation in the US with the government perging religon whenever it finds it and churches reinventing scripture to support sins against which the bible preaches. This decision is simply a clarification of what I already know: The government intends to mandate athiesm as the state religion.

These two decisions dictate that Judaism (the very fundamentals of the Law of Moses) must be left outside on the lawn of the courthouse and not allowed inside.
Next will be a ruling that Jews themselves must stay out of the courts.

The Republicans ARE going to fix the judiciary and nominate justices like Anton Scalia if they want to remain the majority party. The Alberto Gonzales of the world won't cut it. Failure to fix the judiciary and appoint "strict Constitutionalists" will produce catastrophic consquences for the GOP, worse than when George HW Bush raised taxes.

Separation of Church and State allows the State to assume pre-eminence in society. Also, the 8th Commandment contains the source of current belief in private property rights. Property rights now exist only in case law and are the proper sphere of ethics and the the judicial system. That is the reality.
Well that's it they will have to remove all statues of Justice from courthouses all over the country. That common statue of a lady with a blindfold holding scales was a Roman diety therefore we are promoting the religion of Zeus over others.
If you use other religious symbols common to our society like the ones we got from the Romans it shows how stupid this arguement that displays cause harm.
