What it means to be an American

I have been asked to participate in a "CommunityForum" by The Kansas City Star (yes, the same snooze-paper I regularly trash) on "What It Means to Be an American." The pieces submitted by various readers/subscribers, will appear over the Independence Day weekend.

I know what I believe but since Freepers have posted such inspiring writings over the years, I thought I'd ask for some serious comments on your thoughts (hopefully my piece will be included in the printing but so far, they have only chosen to print a few of my articles.)-

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions

My thanks go out to all of those who care to offer a few of their own.

We live in a country established on the right to BELIEVE, no matter what that belief is. Freedom from tyranny will be fought and died for, 'til we no longer stand.
