RUSH LIMBAUGH LIVE THREAD - 7/18 -- Along comes a story like the Karl Rove story. An objective press would have questioned both sides and tried to find where the truth most likely lay. Rather we are bombarded by attack dogs attempting to bring down the President

Media Admits Rove is Innocent -- The MSM got away with turning the Vietnam War into defeat, especially the Tet Offensive; they turned a two bit breakin into the downfall of a Republican President, and they want to do it again.

Over the past week in particular National Review Online has published terrific notes and columns on the Plame/Wilson affair. Two of the best columns appeared yesterday and this past Friday. Andrew McCarthy's
"Did the CIA 'out' Valerie Plame?" takes a look at the brief filed by the bigfeet of the MSM in the Cooper/Miller contempt proceedings. Former New York Times reporter Clifford May pursues a similarly offbeat angle in
"Who exposes secret agent Plame?" Don't miss either of these terrific columns.
Among the pieces available today, see "Rove rage" by Christopher Hitchens and the Washington Times editorial "Knifing Rove, whitewashing Wilson-Plame." Permalink

I wonder if it was President Bush's decision to clean up the CIA that caused these people to become "Ex-CIA officers" and "former" CIA officers.Yes and it also caused them to concoct this whole scheme to take the President down.
-- the agency has been out of control, recently leaking negative stories to the press to undermine the White House. American Thinker

Cynthia McKinney's CIA Agent Involved in Plame Letter -- Who is
Melvin Goodman? Why, one of the signatories to this
letter regarding the Plame leak. The letter that has been
widely trumpeted by Josh Marshall and others. In continuing our examination of
Josh Marshall's favorite letter, we're moseying on down the list of signatories, and their credibility ain't exactly improving. Ray McGovern, for instance, contributed an article to the ultra-left truthout.org arguing that the Downing Street Memo conclusively proves that Bush deliberately forged intelligence to get us into war in Iraq. Now, are we to believe that he just innocently and in a non-partisan manner became concerned about what happened to poor old Valerie Plame? If you're still unconvinced, read his
hysterical rant at DemocracyNow... David MacMichael, also belongs to McGovern's group,
Veterans Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, which has been virulently anti-war since well before the Plame situation exploded. Observe some of the quotes from MacMichael during an interview with lefty host

Plame Blame Game Shows Democrats' Vacuity -- What fills this vacuum instead are diverse Democratic "point men," or more accurately, "hit men," that take out the cudgels and knives to attack George W. Bush on every front.

Wow, there's a dead giveaway...the "Kerry Legal and Accounting Compliance Fund" is something only very serious donors give to -- it's the fund that would have handled any recount and post-election disputes such as Gore pulled in 2000. These funds create a legal way for donors to exceed the $2000 limit on direct campaign contributions.

Could Judy Miller Have Been the White Houses Source? -- Funny how the Rove/Plame story has sort of fizzed out in the hourly MSM newscasts. For many weeks, it was the lead story of every broadcast. Now, as it looks more like Plame or Wilson 'outed' themselves, the story... has... just... sort of... faded....... away. But- This is getting ready to blow up in the Dems faces...

Soros-Backed Activist Group Disbands as Interest Fades -- Valerie Plame Wilson donated money to ACT and to VP Gore. Considering that she's in hot water over her CIA shenanigans, it's not a stretch to wonder if ACT is shutting down so that records can be shredded prior to the conclusion of Fitzgerald's grand jury.
