Top Secret--AJ and Mac are following this very closing and have some awesome insights to WHY these Senators are disclosing. If you do some research on AJ's and Mac's sites they discuss all that. Justice and FBI know who the leakers are and have known for a while. They will prosecute via Espionage Act. Reporters are next, that's why the WAPO came out with their article today. Folks are running scared and they should.   Find Rockie's famous memo. AJ's site is:

Still Crying Over The Lost Fitzmas

I understand how disappointing it was to the BDS sufferers that Fitzmas turned into Fizzlemas, but this report is just another non-story in a controversy full of them.

The New York Sun reported today that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby has testified that he released information from a National Intelligence Estimate in 2003 to a reporter prior to its publication. Predictably, the media and the blogosphere has overreacted, proving once again that most people do not understand classified materials, unclassified materials, and the process used to classify documents...Austin Bay: "So what’s the story here? That someone who worked in the White House selectively passed properly declassified material to the press? That’s not a scandal; that’s Beltway business as usual...Power Line: "This is the same "scandal" the press tried to sell a few months ago. I wrote about it here...David Ensor at CNN:If the president decides to declassify information, he has that legal right. So, it's not about a law being broken here, and it's not about Valerie Plame-Wilson's name.

UPDATE: Once again, the President has the authority to declassify materials at his discretion, a point hammered home by the Washington Post as well:   Comments (43)

'The media has one mode: "Get Bush."'

"Anyone who has ever worked in intelligence for the US government knows perfectly well that a President, any President, can declassify anything they wish for any reason. Any President can delegate declassification authority down to any level they wish, down to the most newly minted second lieutenant, if they wish, as well."

http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/

"Demagoguery, not journalism"

Why do we need bloggers to fill in the relevant legal details on news stories...The sudden press flap over Scooter Libby’s alleged “revelation” that President Bush declassified intelligence information related to Iraq is silly but all too predictable...Read the original to access the background links mentioned...(Via Instapundit)...Byron York concurs...More for the reading-comprehension-challenged in the peanut gallery - CNN's David EnsorComments (5) |

The Return of the Son of Plamegate

As usual when one of these stories comes out, my esteemed colleagues on the loony left email me gloating about how Bush is going DOWN this time, man! Usually a few obscenities thrown in for emotional impact.

Wish I had a dollar for every pumped-up soon-debunked half-baked pseudo-scandal they’ve gloated over.

Let's Discuss Bush Derangement Syndrome Again
Glenn Reynolds discusses the hate mail he has received since his comments that I linked to in the previous post:

This bit of hatemail, though, seems to carry the flavor best:

Did you ever really think you'd be the kind of person who would be calling dissenters from a right-wing, gay-bashing, anti-evolution, incompetent war-making administration "unpatriotic"?
I'm not sure where evolution or gay rights come into this (I've "dissented" on those points myself, after all), but I think this illustrates that the "Bush lied" issue has more to do with anti-Bush sentiment than with anything having to do with the merits of the war.

The Instapundit is exactly right about this. It has to do with an unreasoning hatred of Bush, or as Charles Krauthammer put it in his definition of Bush Derangement Syndrome:

Read it all-- but some nuggets?

Virginia Postrel recounted this insight:
This psychological defense mechanism is referred to as "displacement".
UPDATE: Of course, they could also just be Stuck on Stupid. Like this guy .

Effort To Impeach Bush Backfires On Newfane (Pop 1,680)
Vermont Idiotarian Watch

Idiots on the loose in Vermont: Vermont Democrats call for Bush impeachment.

RANDOLPH, Vermont (Reuters) - Democratic Party leaders in Vermont on Saturday passed a motion asking Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush.

The Democratic Party is so far off the rails, it’s going to take a generation to repair the damage. link: 197 comments

I'm gobsmacked. Thunderstruck.

Went to dinner tonight with a couple of Manhattan friends, and Dianne, whom I'd pegged as an LLL, astounded me with the following views (Background: she's teaching public school in the Bronx, and it has radicalized her butt!):

1. "Multiculturalism is designed to destroy the dominant culture -- ours."

2. The "teaching" methods in school these days are absolutely disastrous -- the kids learn nothing and have no respect. They're supposed to be "grouped" for ALL tasks: "individualism is FORBIDDEN," and everyone in the group gets the same grade. This is "extremely cruel to the smart kids, in particular."

3. The ACLU "needs to be put out of business. They're the worst fascists going!"

4. The kids are taught ZERO grammar, therefore they have ZERO critical thinking skills, as they have only the most rudimentary language to think WITH.

5. Memorization is verboten by the public school Poohbahs. Kids see something once, and never want to look at it again. They retain almost nothing.

6. "All cultures are equally valid? Bull***t!"

7. A moonbat blond teacher, a real airhead, spoke in the last faculty meeting about a moslem boy in her class who was beating up girls, because that's what he did at home [charming]. The moonbat/moron called the moslem dad, and told him his son wasn't allowed to do that in school, but what he did at home was their business, since it was their CULTURE [everybody bow and scrape!].

8. "I wasn't worried when Alito was appointed to the Supreme Court. I told my friends that we need to move to the right -- we've gone too far in the other direction!"

9. Teachers aren't supposed to impart their superior knowledge to the students: too heirarchical. Might make the students feel ignorant and inadequate. [BEING ignorant and inadequate isn't a problem.]

When I asked her what she thought was responsible for the balkanization/etc. of our schools, she said, "I have to say it was my generation's fault -- the Sixties crowd. And the kids are being taught not to identify as individual Americans, but as members of whatever ethnic group they belong to."

Great way to have everyone at each other's throats, I remarked, and she agreed, with disgust.

And this was the kicker -- "So-called LIBERALS are the worst FASCISTS on the PLANET!" and then she said she was sick and tired of the Thought Police, and mimed firing off a machine gun.

The stranger that approached Novak? Larry Johnson, Ex-CIA. And if my theory is correct, Vincent Cannistraro, another ex-CIA agent, who is a security consultant to the Vatican in Rome, engineered the break-in at the Niger Embassy there, where the letterhead and seals were stolen for the forgeries.

Have you checked these ex-CIA (Clinton-supporters most likely) for THEIR donations to Clinton/Kerry/Gore/Hillary?

Air Leaks Out Of Leak Story

After forty-eight hours of hyperbole and hypocrisy surrounding allegations that George Bush "leaked" portions of the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq in July 2003, the AP now reports that Bush never asked anyone to divulge the information via a private conversation and never had Scooter Libby in mind as a conduit. Instead, the President declassified the information and delegated the release to Dick Cheney:   Comments (17)  "This is nothing more than attempt number 1,238,999 to make a story into a "Bush is a bad guy" theme rather than tell the story and let the people decide. Bush declassified data in an effort to make the information available to Americans; Wilson has already been proven to be a worthless lying self-serving Liberal Bush-America hating POS; Plame has already been proven to have been anything but (secret status) at the time of the supposed "exposure"; Fitzgerald spending 25 million while taking 2 years to come up with nothing is the real story; can't wait for the right people with the real information take the stand."

Sad to see so many trolls. But this is their fitzmas story exploding.

THE MEDIA AND THE LEFT GO NUCLEAR
CATEGORY: Politics, Iran

If you plan on perusing lefty websites today, I highly recommend you put on a hazmat suit and take along a Geiger counter. Also, please make sure you’re wearing a good pair of cowboy boots because not only is it getting thicker and deeper than usual in moonbat land, but many of the denizens of the fever swamps have detonated their own weapon of mass stupidity regarding the possible use of nuclear weapons by the United States...Actually, Think Progress has a good round-up of a series of leaks in the past couple of weeks all designed to make the Iranian leadership very, very uncomfortable...This past week has seen the Jack-in-the-Box left in all of it’s glorious moonbattery jumping up and down over a story that not only has been reported before but which promises to actually vindicate Bush in his denial that he ever told anyone to leak Valerie Plame’s name.

"The left is in a total panic. The release of the captured documents has made fools and liars of the entire crowd. The one particular document showing Saddam ordered suicide attacks on the us six months prior to 9-11-01 has been translated by many different people with the exact same result. Add the fact Saddam was seeking uranium in Africa and the coordination between Iraq and Osama and that proves that the president was the only one telling the truth. Sort of shoots the ‘lied us into war’ strategy of the left down doesn’t it?"

Blogs for Bush: The White House Of The Blogosphere

Don't look back

Over at Expose the Left, Ian Schwartz has posted the video of John Hinderaker's appearance via Webcam on CNN's "On the Story" last night and this afternoon. Ian has also posted the video of my effort on CNN's "Reliable Sources" to stem the epidemic of Bush Derangement Syndrome gripping the mainstream media in connection with the absurd "leaker-in-chief" stories that they are peddling.
