Russia has ordered an inquiry into a 16th century Jewish religious law to ascertain whether it constitutes racist incitement and anti-Russian material, a media report said. Russia’s state prosecutor has ordered an examination into ‘shulhan arukh’, a code of Jewish Halakhic law compiled in the 16th century, and a probe against a Jewish umbrella outfit in Russia for distributing a Russian translation of an abbreviation of the religious law.
The probe was launched after some 500 public figures, including members of the Nationalist Rodina Party, in a letter to the prosecutor’s office urged to outlaw the Jewish religion and all its organisations operating in Russia, daily Ha'aretz reported.
The affair being closely watched in Israel has raised concerns for the Jews of Russia, who have come under increased anti-semitic attacks recently, the report said.

I personally know a number of religious Jews in Russia right now. Judaism has expanded greatly under the Putin government. As a matter of fact, Putin himself has participated in the dedication of a large synagogue in Moscow. It is on film.
There has always been a certain amount of Jew hatred in Russia. Matter of fact, this same sort of trial is documented against religious Jews of over 150 years ago and is documented.
I through out George Soros because the only "Russian" source for this article I could google up was from 'Mosnews' an English internet news website financed by Soros. 'Mosnews' probably served as the source for the following articles.
The madness is this is another sign that Russia, Like Europe, is going full throttle in its' Anti-Semitism.

We in America have something close to it it though - the FCC - the investigate complaints about broadcasters all the time -well founded or not.
David Yikes did not make this stuff up. It is mostly told to him by others who made it up. However, it is a scientific fact that all flu is from birds, and birds are the modern descendents of the dinosaurs, which also contains the ancestry of the lizards. There is enough of a germ of truth in these speculations to provide endless entertainment.
How does the investigation of Pushkin have anything to do with this and disinformation?
You claim there is something "inflexible" in prosecution once some random group complains, but that does not mitigate this from the story:

Further did I miss the historical context of Russian pogroms and purges of Pushkin lovers?
And how is the apparatus of prosecutorial rules which enable censorship supposed to be a comfort to critics who claim Russian backsliding?
This Pushkin story has no relationship to disinformation or anti-Semitism.
