CODE PINK LEADER GIVES SUPPORT TO TERRORISTS IN IRAQ
Sunday, June 26, 2005 | Kristinn

Posted on 06/26/2005 4:05:03 PM PDT by kristinn

Code Pink leader Jodie Evans, in a blog posted from the World Tribunal on Iraq, today gave her open support to the terrorists in Iraq who are killing American soldiers and Iraqis

While some may wonder, "is this news?" it is, indeed. Code Pink has been very careful over the past three years to maintain a front of being a peace group. In fact, it's complete name is Code Pink Women for Peace. The veil slipped when co-leader Medea Benjamin shot her mouth off in Jordan last December when she proclaimed the group was giving $600,000 in cash and aid to the families of "the other side" in Fallujah.

Recently, Code Pink has been holding weekly Friday night vigils at the main gate to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to express their phony support for the men and women recuperating from their war wounds. I wonder how the soldiers and families at Walter Reed will take the news that the pink sign holding people have given their support to the terrorists in Iraq.

The D.C. Chapter will be sure to tell them at our next patriotic counter-demonstration there.

Here are Jodie Evans' remarks, preserved for posterity:

We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and their right to resist.  I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. What does the Iraqi resistance have to lose? They are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies. It is so amazingly obvious; we must get out of Iraq now. They will rebuild their country, it will take time, a long time, but they cannot start until we are gone.

Source link.

Code Pink now joins ANSWER as publicly endorsing the terrorists. This has been a sticking point between ANSWER on one side and Code Pink and United for Peace and Justice on the other. I expect them all to support the terrorists publicly by the time Sept. 24-26 rolls around in Washington, D.C.

The leftists are planning "non-violent direct action and civil disobedience" in D.C. on Monday Sept. 26. When they tried that two years ago, the D.C. police swiftly disrupted their plans by arresting leftist protesters demonstrating without a permit. Since then, successful lawsuits were filed against the D.C. police and the D.C. City Council passed a law severely restricting the cops' ability to preserve law and order in the city when protests get out of hand.

Code Pink will be there and I'm sure their terrorist allies will be cheering them on.

There were more of us during Vietnam. But according to the media they were the majority and the media and the left-wing in congress supported the anti-Americans as they still do today.

Understood. Our parents, our brothers and sisters, and (for the youngest Freepers) our grandparents - were all busy with their jobs and raising families, and they didn't take to the streets to counter-protest the leftists who were marching and rioting during Vietnam. We can't let that mistake happen again.

Every time the leftists march, protest, have a "die-in" at a recruiting center - in Washington, DC, New York City or Podunk, Iowa - we have to counter them. The media will fall all over themselves to lovingly cover their protests; and they will be forced to cover our counter-protests. If we are there. And then other regular folks like us will see that somebody else is fighting against the lies of the leftists; and some of them will join us. Some of them will also fight back with letters in their newspapers, and to their elected representatives.

If we are not there, then we run the very real risk of losing the battle in Iraq, against the radical Islamists, and against the radical leftists in our midst in the USA.

Fighting back, and counter-protesting the leftists, and writing letters to local papers takes a lot of work. But the internet is our friend (thank you, AlGore), and we can find the proof we need to convince the "regular working folk" that these groups are, in fact, enemies of our government, our soldiers, and us, and that they don't mourn American deaths - they rejoice in them.

The lies that the media and the far left will place before the American people will be many and will depict us as losing and killing only civilians who just want to live a life of their own. (Which was a lie then and is a much bigger lie now)

Like I said, it takes work to prove their lies; but the internet is a great resource. And Free Republic is a great resource, too; with lots of folks here already doing the research work for us, and finding links to the traitorous statements and deeds of the "anti-war" leaders.

We can win this. We have to.

By being vocal and by informing our fellow citizens. That's how we got Clinton impeached.

Seems just this morning I was listening to juan on FOX saying that Rove had definitely gone to far

I heard Bill Kristol say the same thing with a bit if Vitriol. I used to think that liberal apologist were a pain in the neck but my opinion of them has dropped the last few years.

That 9/11 woman you saw on Hardball the other night was Kristin Brietwieser---she is one of the 9/11 widows that were dems before the attack, but became the media darlings during the coverage....so, in order to keep their 15 minutes of fame, and possibly more donations...

they kept showing up on CNN and MSNBC critisizing everything that the Bush Administration did...they were a hugh reason we had that dog & pony show, the 9/11 Commission......

Not only was she on their complaining about Rove's remarks, but MSNBC couldn't even fine ONE 9/11 family member that AGREED with Rove....they got some guy that basically echoed Kristin's vitriol.....gack....and Chrissy wasn't even there!

Gosh, I am embarrased now, I just replied to your post about the 9/11 widow---and I misread it.. You posted that she was on Olbermann, and I was talking about Hardball...

I am sorry, I don't ever watch Olberman, so I don't know who he had on...but the description in my other post to you is what happened on Hairball, so I bet Olberman's widow was probably pretty similar...

What a sick propagandist to issue such an ill-informed piece of garbage statement. At least her cover is now blown (and before this I never even heard of Code Pink - I was hoping it was a cool chick-punk band)

...this war has gone weary because we have not fought to win ...

What would you have done differently?

Saddams army was defeated and he was captured. Everyone knew his supporters would go to ground. Everyone also knew that every terr in the region would make their way to Iraq.

Our guys are doing fine. You're succumbing to the media mantra of doom and gloom.

"We attacked the wrong country, first of all."

Wrong! Think back to the UN resolution 1441. Fortunately, we and some other nations had the backbone to see it through. Only history will tell the true picture whether we attacked the wrong country or not.

"Either fight the war to win, or don't bother fighting."

Here, you sound like my Vietnam veteran hubby. I see nothing wrong with what you said above that got you banned. Perhaps there's more to the story. Who knows.

More to the story?

Well, I guess you've never run across him in forum, or read his past commentary.
