Good morning, Alas. I see the big guns are out today. No Hagel? After his remarks about how we are losing in Iraq, he has been in hiding, blowing off two scheduled interviews with Tony Snow. Heheheheh.

Must be an error here. Where's Biden, Kennedy, McCain or a host of other "regulars"?

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld; singer and activist Bono. Welcome to Bizzaro land. Here we have the SECDEF of America sharing the microphone with a rock singer.
I like Bono and U2--I went to many of their concerts and have most of their albums, but this is ridiculous. Why our culture is elevating this man is laughable. He never offers any real solutions to real problems, except platitudes such as: "we must learn to understand one another and to live in peace."
Gee, thanks Bono. Why didn't we think of that?

What bothers me more lately is the media is treating him as some sort of Liberal Messiah.

A face off between Rumsfeld and Bono would be very amusing for a Sunday morning.

Good!!! Finally Team Bush goes on the offensive. I was getting a little tired of McCain and Biden.
Laying the groundwork for the President's Tuesday night speech.
President Bush needs to really nail it Tuesday - no mush mouth. I am a fan of the President, but don't understand why he is unable to give a speech from the White House. One would think someone could have coached him to do that.

Good morning AB and thanks as usual for providing this thread.
I hope Rummy kicks all the MSM butts especially after the trick NBC tried last night. I won't be forgetting it anytime soon.

This is a clarification of post #7.
Post #7 just says "Joe Biden". This is a spoof of the name "Matt Damon" as used in the movie "Team America, World Police". In the movie Matt Damon is basically shown as an idiot that can barely say his name but does so "with importance". And that's all he does over and over whenever the camera is on him. As we know, Joe Biden is somewhat like that on the Sunday programs. In the movie Matt Damon is played by a wooden puppet with doll hair. Also called a marionette. I'm sure you can see the comparison there.
Thank you for reading this clarification of post #7. Whenever you see me post the name "Joe Biden" by itself as I did in post #7 it's to ridicule Joe Biden as a wooden puppet with doll hair that's only good for getting on camera and saying it's own name over and over with idiotic self-importance.

I hardly ever watch the MSM anymore, just can't take the spin. Last night I just happened to catch a short two minute segment on the war at the top of the show, the NBC nightly news.
One of the biggest stories of the week was the three female soldiers getting killed in Iraq. The OLD Media has played upon it something fierce but what NBC did was far beyond the pale.
They sought out a spokesperson, a recent female soldier, and solicited a comment from her to the effect of "how many have to die", and then the inference was 'until we pull out of Iraq.'
It was the most biased yellow journalism I have ever seen and to do something like this during a time of war is nothing less than traitorous.
To try and turn the country sour on the war and to use the death of female soldiers to do it is just too outrageous to even imagine.
I was truly outraged.

Looks like a good day for once.

I had hoped (silly optimist) that, after the MSM failed in its very obvious attempt to defeat the President, they might pull in their claws a bit but, obviously, they are now turning all of their efforts toward having us lose this war.
