I bet if they put Saddam on the hood they would stop some of those ambushes.

One thing good about wars, BS gets shoved aside. Before the war a foreign made vehicle would not be considered because it was built overseas. Not everything made in the USA is good, but DoD is forced to buy them because some Senator or Congressmen mandated it. HUMMVV were not designed to be armored cars, and yet we are forced to use them as such. Now they are too top heavy for their chassis and frame.

One unfortunate aspect of armoring HMMVVs & trucks is that no truck can be armored enough to prevent it being destroyed by 200 lbs of plastic explosive being set off under or next too it. That much will flip a tank over.

Great vehicle. There are only 2 dozen or so of them in Iraq. Why not more?

If it brought my son or daughter home alive, I would think that it was the most beautiful vehicle I had ever seen.

Have you all noticed the difference between news stories written by military reporters compared to most MSM stories? They're always clear, informative, and to the point; and with little or no editorial opinion slipped in.
