With Sir Elton John and David Furnish's "civil partnership ceremony" just months away, one might presume that a celebrated dressmaker is quietly toiling away on elaborate outfits for the couple (below).
Let's not forget that Elton appeared at his 50th birthday bash five years ago dressed as King Louis XIV, sporting a 3ft-high wig.
But no. I am finally able to write the words "Elton", "dressed" and "discreetly" in the same sentence.
"We won't be inappropriately dressed on the big day," says Furnish, who hosted the White Tie and Tiara Ball with Elton on Thursday night.
"Fancy dressing at a wedding just isn't a very good look," he tells me.
"Elton hasn't yet given me an engagement ring, but I still wear a very special one he gave me 12 years ago."
Visualizing the way he says this while offering to show the ring on his hand is giving me a gut ache.
David is Canadian BTW ...
LOL!
Of course not, the wedding in itself has a look not to be overshadowed by attire!
LoL!
Not that there is anything WRONG with that....
LOL!!!
I wonder if HE bought his beloved an engagement ring. What is the proper protocol for this? The mind boggles, truly. Inquiring minds want to know...
Nothing more pathetic than an old queen.
Don't do it, Elton! Can't you see he's just a young thang marrying you for your money?
After this "marriage," does Sir Elton become Dame Elton? Or does his intended become a Duchess or something? Anybody have a Social Registry or Book of Heraldry handy to sort this out?
Will they be formally known as Sir Elton and Lady David?
Can't wait to see the sheets after the wedding night. Fifty bucks says the bride is not a virgin.
Elton John's gay? Damn! I never would have imagined it.
