Another Poisoning Seen In Death Of Ukraine's Pluzhnikov

Another alleged poisoning is rocking Ukraine on Thursday: Politician and businessman Igor Pluzhnikov died after the onset of a mysterious illness. Pluzhnikov, the majority owner of the nation's main TV channel, Inter, was well connected to "The Group of Seven," a circle of influential Ukrainian businessmen. He was also key in the opposition Social Democratic Party that supported the losing candidate in last year's presidential elections. Reports speculate that Pluzhnikov may have been strong-armed into selling his Inter stake, so buyers could make the channel more regime-friendly. Not much more is known about the share sale. But by mid-June, Pluzhnikov was in a coma, reportedly from "toxic hepatitis," sparking eerie flashbacks to last fall's "illness" of now President Victor Yushchenko. The latter's gray pockmarked face and deteriorating health were originally dismissed as food poisoning; later, an Austrian clinic confirmed Yushchenko had elevated levels of dioxin in his blood. Two Ukrainian billionaires continue to control their TV channels--for now. Victor Pinchuk leads ICTV, STB, and Novyi Kanal and Rinat Akhmetov has TRK Ukraine. The two collaborated in last year's $800 million purchase of Kryvorizhstal when they underbid Mittal Steel (nyse: MT - news - people ) and Pittsburgh-based United States Steel (nyse: X - news - people ). Ukrainian courts have handed the steel company back to the state. (see: "Ukraine Seizes 'Total Control' Of Private Steel Mill") Meanwhile, Pinchuk and Akhmetov have filed a complaint in the European Court for Human Rights. The official probe of Pluzhnikov's death continues

I guess they've moved past arresting opposition leaders and into direct killing of them?

some on the board must be much to young to know this is normal soviet practice.

Some are too naive to comprehend that a name change does not portend an alteration in character or intent.

Ukrainian oligarch gangsters. "Social(ist) Democrats" have been dropping like flies because they all know where the bodies are buried from the previous administration. He was silenced by his own, just like Yuri Lyakh.

Maybe you need to read a bit better, this is Ukraine and Yushchenko's government is the accused one. You know, Yushchenko backed by the EU and the MSM.

How could this be? The MSM would never lie to us, would it? After all he's pro-West (guess they didn't add that West means EU: Germany, France, Spain)

Typical of you to take things out of context:

Pluzhnikov, the majority owner of the nation's main TV channel, Inter, was well connected to "The Group of Seven," a circle of influential Ukrainian businessmen. He was also key in the opposition Social Democratic Party that supported the losing candidate in last year's presidential elections. Reports speculate that Pluzhnikov may have been strong-armed into selling his Inter stake, so buyers could make the channel more regime-friendly.

So we know from this article that:
1. He was an oligarch
2. He opposed Yushchenko
3. He was strong armed into selling his media company stake to allies of Yushchenko.
4. He was in a coma shortly after being strong armed to sell his stock.

Most people will draw the real conclusions from this. But thanks for taking the time to pull things out of context as usual.

No problem, tovarisch. You have sold your soul to the Ukrainian oligarch gangsters of the "Social Democrat" Party. You spread their propaganda and deflect guilt for their crimes onto their enemies. How much do you owe the Russian mob, tovarisch? What are they holding over you?

Trying to bring back the smear you laid down on my wife without using all the words, I see. Garbage in garbage out, you definitly uphold that one.

Oh, I think Socialist Comrade Yushchenko needs your presence in Kiev to cheerlead for him, better hurry before he sets manditory prices on plane tickets too and planes stop flying.

Ha! You even defend Soros' business partner Viktor Pinchuk, one of the biggest oligarchs in Ukraine. You are nothing but a water boy for Soros and his oligarch friends.
