I've never watched the whole 'Born on the Fourth July' movie.

After watching the left broil our young men in the service, I just wasn't interested.

I did watch enough of it to see where it was headed. That was a direction I just wasn't inclined to go, with it.

It seemed to me they were trying to show the metamorphasis of the Kovik character from gung ho patriot, to burnt out hater of the military that did this to him.

Perhaps this appealed to others. Perhaps I've skewed what the movie was all about. I just couldn't sit through it.

No, you haven't skewed anything. You hit the nail right on the head. If you have any doubts, think Oliver Stone... he was the director.
