ORANJESTAD, Aruba For the first time, Aruban authorities on Friday detailed their suspicions in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway (search), saying they believe the Alabama teen was murdered.
Joran van der Sloot (search) and his friends Deepak and Satish Kalpoe are being held under suspicion of murder and kidnapping as well as being an accessory to murder.

"He was called in to give a statement and I don't think it matched what the others who were arrested said. So, at that time he was arrested."
This case is really interesting. I wish they would give us a clue as to the specifics. What was wrong with this guys story? Why was the father arrested? I've never seen such a lack of information in a missing persons case.
Premeditated ? That doesn't fit the "accident" theories put forward by some.
" Fox News needs to stop obsessing about this."
Yes, we should all stop obsessing about abducted, abused, neglected or murdered innocent little children, teens and animals. It's such a bummer (sarcasm). Until it's someone near and dear to you.
"he went to the ATM the night the girl disappeared 3 times at 300 am. and 3.45 am in the morning."
That's only twice. I'll bet his son had his ATM card, I doubt it was actually the father going to the atm at that hour.
"Seems strange to need cash that late, but then again it's a party town."
True it's a party town, but according to the boys story, there's nothing in particular that they would have needed money for that late, and there's no way the father would normally be out at 3:45am. So once again... something's up. Interesting info. though. It seems impossible to get any information about this case, they just keep reporting the same thing over and over.
Me, either.
Did you just wander over here from DU to take a few pot shots?
Oh come on, don't be like that. LOL!
"Premeditated ? That doesn't fit the "accident" theories put forward by some."
Yeah I was under the impression that there had probably been an accident with an overdose on a Date-Rape drug, and Joran panicked and hid the body. That would probably be manslaughter plus evidence tampering and lying to the police.
Keep in mind though that just because they are holding him on suspicion of aidin' and abettin' a "Premeditated Murder" doesn't necessarily mean that is the most likely theory. Until they start being honest and straightforward with the authorities, the authorities are right to assume the worst. "If you don't tell us what happened we have to assume the worst" sort of thing.
Greta's got a kind face. Kind you don't really want to look at!
Our theory in the Sterious house--the party boat guy was friends with one or more of the three (possible) perps, so he might have helped for that reason. The father, it seems, might have told him how to clean up and get rid of other evidence.
Then again, it could be something else altogether.
Before the plastic surgery, she looked homely, but human. Now she looks like she's wearing a Silly Putty mask - nothing moves but the eyes.
That's easy, L.F.--just click on another story (instead of this one) and poof! It's gone.
Or does your mouse only click on stories you don't like?
You are right. Hannity and Colmes is off my list until this thing is over and Sustern, well she's been off my list for a long time.
I think it's unhealthy to watch any channel--even Fox--as long as some here seem to do. There are literally hundreds of other channels, at least on Dish Network. Almost any 24/hr news channel repeats itself every hour--over and over and over and over. Give it an hour, then give it up. Do something else.
FOFLOL! I gotta go tell that one to Hubby....
Then why are you on this thread? We all have choices, and here on FR there are zillions of threads to read. On television, there are hundreds of channels. If you can't find what you want on television or Free Republic, why not just find something else to do? Surely, you do have other things to do?
