WHITE HOUSE President Bush is shrugging off the polls showing his job approval rating at low ebb. At a news conference with Iraq's visiting prime minister, Bush jokingly suggested the word "quagmire" to a reporter asking about a possible "second-term slump."
The president says he knows U-S troops have a difficult mission in Iraq against a bloodthirsty and determined enemy.
And he says on domestic issues, he's asking Congress to "take on some big tasks." He says he's not surprised his idea for a Social Security overhaul has met stiff resistance from lawmakers.
Bush added: "This is a time of testing. It's a critical time."
What makes you think I am a bot? Because I can find some redeeming qualities in him and NONE in you guys?

I admire W's character, and I believe he's sincere, quite a change from the scumbag we had in that office before him. However, his character doesn't change the fact that he's also a terrible, weak president.
Believe me I don't get emotional easily. This has built over a couple of months time.
This crap and the Schiavo thing has turned this place upside down and I truly depise those of you who are doing it.

I'm a critic of Bush sometimes but this isn't the thread to complain about illegal immigration, property rulings, or SS reform.
You get all emotional so easily. Cold, rational people are just boring. Who cares to debate the issues, when "debate" serves no purpose whatsoever on the internet. It's an entertainment medium.

I wasn't talking to you, my comments were to Howlin. Of course it was a mistake and like I said, he would have changed his mind after 9/11. Unfortunately, Bush doesn't. I think it says a lot about this man, I remember when Reagan died, I kept hearing people say that Bush was the Reagan of our time. I laughed so hard....and now I know I was right.

Um, how could I forget about the threat of the Soviet Union. Especially when I don't believe the cold war really ended. Reading the works of soviet dissidents and defectors would show anyone what the real plan was. Now they're back. Of course China is a threat, I think it's stupid of this Administration not to make more of an issue out of it.

I doubt you do anything to support the troops, other than to post here, which is no support at all. Your response is an insult to my friend, and I'm sure he'll be thrilled when he reads your response, which I've cut&pasted and sent to him. He'll be happy to see that some "patriots" like yourself deny his existence.
I'd tell you to go crawl under a rock, but I have more respect for rocks than to ask that.
