Ick. All that's missing is the soft-focus camera.
Now, if O'Connor also goes, that would be interesting, provided Bush nominates someone who can read to take her place.
Wouldn't be the first time .. nor the last time
I put NO TRUST in McLame
FREEPER BUMP!!
Graham and DeWine may feel and need to respond more to their bases.
McPain could care less and he will do what he sees he needs to do for himself, and not because it does or does not affect his status in the GOP.
So no, we cannot count on McPain, ever.
Last Sunday McPain said, on TV, that the course of the rest of the judicial appointments is not up to Frist or Reid, it is up to him and the other 13. He also said that Bush should be taking the gang of 14's "moderate" position if he wants to get his next nominees appointed. Yes, oh yes, that is what McPain said, last Sunday.
Perhaps Dubya nominates Brown, Pryor, Owens (in that order)-
they have already been defined as "non-extraordinary".
This issue would be moot, don't you think.
I think it will be Rhenquist because he seems to have a seriously aggressive form of cancer and will probably be forced toretire.
I live in Ohio. I don't trust DeWine and more than McCain.
I feel the same about Voinovich.
Apparently I'm not alone. The Ohio republican party is having trouble raising funds, and the complaints about our US Senators are pouring in.
This may cause DeWine to change his stance, but I still wouldn't trust him. He's only be doing it because his back is against the wall.
Soul Seeker, make sure you let us know when the primaries are settled and there are challengers to Graham to get behind.
Tell us who the best challenger is, and I know people who will send small (but every little bit helps) donations to that campaign.
So far no one has stepped forward to challenge DeWine in his primary. Rumors Kasich was putting out feelers, but as of yet no declared intent.
Graham's election is in '08. Ravanel has declared interest. He came in second in the '04 S.C. Rep primary for Senate.
When and if someone comes forward to challenge DeWine, I'll be shouting it from the roofs. LOL
Thanks for noticing this Ken. Of course since this agreement is all in the minds of the signees, the Constitutional option is on the table as soon as two GOP signatories go along IF the other 48 GOP Senators are willing. I guess we don't know about some nonsignatories?
"DeWine's re-election is very shaky, and he doesn't even have a challenger in the primary yet."
Although I do not live in Ohio, I am relatively close (Western PA) and I have decided to focus on defeating DeWine in the 2006 primary. I would hope to form a like-minded group of folks in the Middle Atlantic/Midwest region (outside Ohio) to pursue this goal (of supporting conservative Republicans in Ohio).
Of course, I and others of similar inclinations would be dependent on the people of Ohio making a move in this direction. Any news on that?
