Excellent point!

Jefferson and the rest picked a point in time to stand. That’s what makes their contributions so great, the point that they did stand up!

It’s always an accumulation, the question remains, At what point do we stand?

Right. Whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we all have our own breaking points when it comes to tyranny.

This is what I foresee in the political arena:

1. There will be armed resistance. For example, some local government wants to bulldoze a church. Why? Churches pay no taxes, right? I can foresee the church members defending their place of worship with guns. The result will be a major political food fight, with tyranny on the losing end.

2. There will be civil disobedience. Imagine the government wanting to bulldoze a trailor park. The residents may chain themselves up there, facing the bulldozers. Tyrannical government persecuting the poor.

3. There will be mass protests in a large number of otherwise-obscure places.

This kind of garbage has been going on for a long time. Now, people will pay closer attention to it through the new media.

Here's an example outside the realm of land rights: imagine if the Supreme Court said that employers were allowed to have the free speech to make racist comments. The old media, of course, would pay attention to any employer exercizing that right.

And the moment an employer does, then the minority group in question decides whether to take up armed resistance, or take the political/civil disobedience route. I've always believed that freedom to speech is freedom to hang yourself with your own words.

Tyranny is no different than freedom of speech. Unlimited government power is the power to destroy yourself through your own tyranny.
