Anyone hear Paul Harvey today?
Paul Harvey News & Comment

Did anyone hear the end of Paul Harvey's radio show today? He quoted Winston Churchill who said, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor that Amercans "did not get where they were by being made of sugar candy". He tied that in with what happened on 9/11, and said "I've been choking on this one for weeks, and I'd like to get it out".

He mentioned that in WW2, America developed the atom bomb, and in two swift blows (Hiroshima & Nagasaki), and we ended the war. In these days, "we have mustered our humanity to prove that we aren't like our attackers".
He also said that we have kept our "best weapons in their silos".
I believe Mr. Harvey might be in favor of a couple "swift blows" to prove who we are....because we're not made of sugar candy.

Do we have at least two independent sources to confirm what Harvey claims? He's not the most reliable.

I heard him and he said what I've been saying since the start of the war.
More bombs, less bullets.

I heard his morning report today (Thurs 6/23). The piece about the A-bomb and Churchill and "sugar candy" are about 2:50 into the commentary. The audio is available on his web site -

Don't forget about the "we gave the Indians blankets infested with small pox as a form of germ warfare," crack.
I think Mr. Harvey is suggesting that America "nuts up" and opens up a can of whoop-ass on Islamic terrorism.

Mr. Harvey is correct. I've listened to him since 1973. Today he was right on.

Do it now, or do it later. I don't think we can be on the same planet without one of us changing our minds, and mine ain't gonna change!

I think you hit it on the button, infidel29. Harvey was saying that yes, we have done some bad stuff to our enemies in the past and that we should be able to do it again instead of crumbling. It's a war, dammit.
Just one of our missile subs could unload and take care of the whole problem. That would definitely qualify as an open can of whoop-ass.

I understand that what we say here may not influence like someone of Mr. Harveys status but he is right.
A nuke or ten on various mid east sites would sure make me a lot happier.
And it would sure stop our boys from dying for these turds.

Mr. Harvey is correct. I've listened to him since 1973. And I think my late grandfather listened to him back in '33.

I heard it today too. It was Paul Harvey at his best. I was a little surprised to hear him speak so bluntly, but he was spot on.

I dont think you take on a bunch of mideastern religious fanatics who are fighting an asymetrical war by dropping atomic bombs on them....we are winning with what we are doing

This is largely a guerrilla conflict. Nukes are just too indiscriminate. Someone once said it would be like trying to kill athletes foot with a sledge hammer: one smashed foot and the fungus unharmed.
