Meetings to Focus on Bush Impeachment (WI)

The Madison chapter of Veterans for Peace is planning a series of town hall meetings to discuss the impeachment of President Bush.

Retired UW Professor Bob Kimbrough hopes the meetings will spark a serious discussion on impeachment.

"It's pretty much in the air now, thank goodness," he said.

The state Democratic Party has called for the impeachment of Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and some Democrats in Congress have broached the subject.

Kimbrough, Buzz Davis and Don McKeating of Madison Veterans for Peace, Chapter 25, are organizing the events.

"The purpose, since it's a town meeting, is to hear what other people have to say," Kimbrough said. "We're going to keep our presentations short."

Criticism about how Bush and administration officials took the nation to war in Iraq is growing, particularly in light of the so-called "Downing Street memo," which hit the British press early last month. The memo suggests that Bush lied to the public about when he made the decision to go to war. The memo states that facts and intelligence were being "fixed around the policy," and that the U.S. had no clear exit strategy after deposing Saddam Hussein.

The National Veterans for Peace, based in St. Louis, issued charges against the president for war crimes, breeches of U.S. and international law and crimes against humanity.

The local chapter is planning several meetings to discuss the charges, but only the first has been scheduled at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday at the Public Safety Building in Stoughton, WI.

"We want to take it one step at a time, test our format and see how it goes," Kimbrough said, "then line up a bunch of them after that."

Oh, Brother. Here we go. It's already been a long, hot summer and we're only two days into it! These nuts really need to stay out of the sun.

"We want to take it one step at a time, test our format and see how it goes,"

May this die an early death.

These folks are not interested in the truth.

They'll probably show up on CNN, pMSNBC, C-SPAN, ABC, NBC, cBS, and maybe a full hour on Meet the Press.

Sadly there are some on Free Republic who will stand up with these liberal moonbats and scream for the President's impeachment.

There are about 12-15% of hyperactive, genuine certifiable "progressive" nutcases in our country.
There is in all likelihood the same number of hyperactive religious nuts/right wing wombats.

That would be a large number of bodies which, certifiable or not, are allowed to vote and generally run loose.

I generally do not consider any of those as serious political opposition, unless they happen to be elected or appointed government officials.

Seeing that these 25-30 million people are certifiable insane, it's not a surprise that anything that can be imagined will be proposed.

My response? Life is too short. I will not reapond to them, I will simply acknowlege their existence, just as I do slugs, cockroaches, mosquitos and pit bulls. What they do in Wisconsin, or anywhere else is of absolutely no importance to me, other to acknowlege we live on a strange planet.

A large group of people should go there, and stand one at a time and start to read the names of each person killed during the attack on 9/11, and keep reading the names in groups of 500.

And bring children, and tell them every one in a while to scream "Daddy!" or "Mommy!", and to cry loudly. And others she shout things like "Burnt to Death!", "Jumped from the 88th Floor", "Crushed by concrete", "Smothered by smoke", and "Policeman", "Fireman", or "Delivery boy". And they should overlap themselves so the names and cries and screams all intermix and continue to crescendo and then cease all at once.

And then start again with the send group of 500 names.....

Madison. Figures...it's a socialist stronghold, filled with middle-aged hippy professors. Only good thing up there is the Midwest beer festival.

A good thing. A very good thing.

What used to be called freak shows, charging money to peruse, are now called activists and they are their own worst trainwreck.
I have no problem with that.

Well, they will be miserable if they "speak" of it here...

After what Rummy had to sit and listen to today, he deserves the Purple Heart...

Do you think Kerry will be a keynote speaker for the meetings??? He should...
