KMJ host Ray Appleton requests support for Governor at 1 P.M. tomorrow. (Fresno)

Tomorrow (6-24-05) Governor Schwarzenegger is going to be a guest on the Ray Appleton Show, KMJ 580, at 1 P.M. Pacific Time. Ray expects a lot of protestors to bash the Governor and he has suggested that counter protestors should have their views considered also. He has made the point that whenever the Governor shows up somewhere, any given number of people and union members protest, and the media flocks to them. I am going to be there to support the Governor.

KMJ 580 is located at the S/W corner of Palm/Shaw, Fresno.

I did not vote for the Governor in the last election, nor do I necessarily share all his views. Nonetheless, I do support him and his initiatives.

Governor Schwarzenegger hasn't impressed me, but I'd sure like to have an opportunity to respectfully speak with him.  I am very leery of the redistricting intuitive he has put forth.  It shouldn't surprise many to learn elected members of his own party is leery of it too.  It basically creates a new government body of retired judges to establish redistricting.  The governor nominates the members, but the legislature must approve them.  Everyone that is satisfied with the current legislature will be thrilled with this intuitive.  And just wait until California elects another Democratic governor and people will soon recognize the governor is giving the keys to the car to the legislature.  I want a change that takes redistricting out of the hands of politicians and political parties completely. The problem isn't too few "masters" over the people, the problem now is too many.

I'd also like the governor to propose a law that would stem, and reverse the flow of illegal immigrants.  Propose a law that prohibits the rental of housing to anyone not a legal resident, and make the penalty for such practice punishable with the forfeiture of the property to the local community for auction if it is proven the property owner openly violated the law, or failed to adequately verify the legal residency of the renter.  Legal residency is not among the list of prohibited discrimination factors in the Fair Housing Act.  Just as property owners are not obligated to rent housing to people lacking sufficient incomes, they are not obligated to rent to people without legal residency. Make it law. It is within the right of the state, and regardless of who is paying illegal immigrants under the table, the illegal immigrants cannot survive here without housing.
