First of all, if you make 50 K then you are paying 11,400 to support your son, which is less than one quarter of your earnings. You would have to support him if he was with you, so why regret supporting him if he is not with you?
The system of child support largely IS against men, but that is because the majority of men who have to be taken to court are deabeats and selfish, irresponsible men who do NOT provide for thier children and have to be forced and compelled by the legal system to do so.
What your wife did to you is unfortunate but providing for your child is the right thing no matter what. The court determines the amount you pay based on both partner incomes, lifestyle, and so forth. Let go and be glad you have a child to support at all.
Thats not true. The vast majority do pay child support. The problem is when courts tell a man he can only see the children he loves every other weekend and then his ex screws with that time. Many "deadbeats" are actually devestated dads. (not all)
The love of their life has asked for a divorce because she wants to move on and she has the home, the kids, his paycheck, and a new man living in the house. He has to support himself on whats left of his check and in the cae of many like construction workers it does not matter that he was laid off when the job was done, Rain days or delays on the jobsite for other reasons are things the black robed little god doesnt want to hear about.
The system is unfair and women get treated better for the most part. Women dont have to pay near as much in support if at all. And last there is as large a percentage of deadbeat moms as there is dads if not larger.

Beg to differ with you, but in reality when men are ordered to pay child support 61% do so with no problems. Now I know that 39% non payment is high, and there are no excuses...they are just dead beats. Care to guess the percentage of non payment of child support, when women are ordered to pay it. The last figure I saw was a little over 90%. Really doesn't matter who has the largest percentage of non-paying deadbeats. Male or female the numbers are huge. But to say that the court system is biased because men are deadbeats really doesn't explain the whole picture. When Men fight for custody, while a small percentage, they usually don't have a chance in a court. I had a friend years ago who fought his cheating, lying, spend thrift wife for custody who after losing the custody battle committed suicide, several months later. While I understand that this is an extreme case, it happens.
